I place more blame on the media, Hollywood, politicians, and professional sports for this. Plenty of people commit murder every year and we don't demonize their co-workers.

It was the media. People really bought into that and started treating all police like crap. I was a cop for over ten years and I quit after the public turned their back on us. When I first started, I love my job and you could actually go out and fight real crime. Before I left, the public love to harass you and try to get a viral video out of you. Nobody who wants to go to work under those conditions. I went back to college and got in the medical field. I do miss being a cop sometimes but I don't miss putting up with all the crap. I was always well liked by the people in my community and I'm telling you, after the media went anti- Police, people started treating me like crap. I put my uniform on to go to work one day and I said to myself: I don't want to go work under these conditions anymore. If the people I protect don't want me there, I can fix that. Wrote up my two week notice and put in my resignation. Enrolled in college during the next semester and that was that.

Nah, I was a street cop for over a decade and I've got college. I got out because people treat you like crap and you get no backing from your city officials. Training was good, pay was okay especially for my area. It was a good job when I first started. People didn't harass you and you could actually go out and investigate crimes and lock up real criminals. Nowadays, the criminals get catered to so I said Peace. I work in the medical field now. I don't enjoy it as much but I don't have to deal with as much crap so.
