Effective communication is not only about words and sentences; to get along with people from different cultures, you also need to know how to speak without being rude or making people angry. In this class, we will go over ways to soften your expressions in English. For example, instead of telling someone, “You’re wrong,” you can say, “I’m not sure that’s entirely accurate.” We will cover different strategies for softening your language, including using modal verbs, avoiding one-word answers, and more. Take the quiz on this lesson at www.engvid.com/polite-profess...
Keep improving your professional English with these lessons!

Friendly advice for all of the English learners out there 🌍...you will find it much easier to memorize words and phrases if you physically practice pronouncing them out loud (or reading them out loud). 🗣 The more you exercise your physical senses (sense of hearing, sense of sight, etc.) the more speaking English will feel like an experience, which will be much more difficult to forget. 🧠🇨🇦

I think this video is like "How to speak wisely in English" or "How to win friends using English". Your content not only contains language knowledge but also culture/custom knowledge and is also helpful wisdom itself. Been following your helpful content for a while, really enjoy it, and think of it as a helpful source to upgrade my English. 10/10

In videos of other people I don't understand their speech properly and fluently, but your pronunciation, speed of speech, pauses that you make and vocabulary that you use, everything ideally matches to my listening and understanding abilities and makes me comfortably "absorb" the topic. Really big thank you for your efforts!

Amazing class. Please, do it more like this. It's extremely helpful for foreign people. I am in UK and sometimes I can't understand what people mean because they are so polite that I don't know if they want or if they don't want something. I don't know if you understand what I mean. I love your channel. It's very useful. Helps me a lot.

Thank you Adam. It has been beneficial for me to watch your videos no matter what topics you are dealing with. You know, we oriental people grow up lacking this kind of expressions, since we tend to believe that using these kind of softened expressions would lose your face and send yourself in an inferior situation. And thus, this has become one of our weaknesses in terms of communication skills.

It was incredibly helpful! Thank you! In my culture we speak quite direct but now I live in UK, here people are very polite and sometimes I feel I offend them with my answers but never mean so. That's why I need more lessons to learn how to speak in a soft way because I don't want sound rude and offend people.
