for active work i still haven't got a working microphone, so soon the sound should be better for these videos.
some ideas on pollaxe work with a pell that might be interesting with training restrictions meaning more work by yourself.

Great tutorial...will help me a lot with practising and getting the basics. I like also the emphasis and examples on the footwork, bending + slide work, in order to get the correct distance of hitting. Short question though about you mentioning having your weapon be slightly set off the side? The purpose makes perfect sense. But when having a right-handed or left-handed opponent, to which side would you best position your weapon to be (i am a leftie)? Thanks for your effort and keep them vids coming! 👍

'right handed' and 'left handed' is specifically mentioned in the sources, but seems to refer to the way you hold the weapon, as in how i switched it in the video. most of the time you largely treat anybody as if they might use both ends the same anyway, so it makes remarkably little difference. there are a few very specific permutations where ist matters, but you learn to just go with the flow as you ended up, and then it becomes really self explanatory when you want to do specific pieces, then you really need to look at which guy is in which hold, that does make a difference

btw the sliding is not all that intentional, due to it being a dancing floor it is very slippery, so i just hold my pelvic posture and use the slide as it happens, but usually you should not slide

@@airnt Check! Thank you for your response about sides and also with the slide. Bit keeping your balance and next making a terrain disadvantage to an advantage, alright! :)

What are the measurements of this pollaxe? Specifically the spear, hammer, and beak
@airnt
@airnt 5 ай бұрын
the beak/hammer was forged from 20x20 mm stock, the beak is now 115 mm, hammer 85 mm and the dague 160 mm long

@@airntThank you!! I'm ordering a pollaxe to be made for me and I was looking for references to decide what size I want the parts to be. This is very helpful.

@@nut4663 when i designed this it was the longest beak i could find on an original, though i found a longer one since, most are, in fact, smaller
