Polo BAH engine rebuild

This is my wife's old car that broke down and has been standing for more than a year. It was overheating and burning oil. I finally got around to rebuilding the engine. This is a diy build and shows how I do it and not necessarily how it should be done.

Good video and nice approach on the rebuild. I did my BMY engine and getting fault code on the crank sensor connected to the rear main seal P0321, using the tool to install it. Any suggestion is welcome.

Very informative and helpful. I have a quick question sir. I have exactly the same car but it’s a 1.6 my 2nd and 3rd plugs are getting slightly Wet with oil. What is the best way forward do I only do the cylinder head/valve stem seals, oil rings or do i need to do a complete engine overhaul? Your advise will be appreciated thanks.

oil on the top of spark plugs or underneath where the spark happens?

hi there whats the torgue settings on the silinder head and the flywheel?im also doing my polo 1.4 16 valve bby model but searching for advice still...any help plz

30nm 90 degrees, 90 degrees(2 times 90 degree cycle) use oil on bottom of threads and underneath top of bolts. Use an MLS gasket and Elrond head bolts.

I wish u can fix my BAH engine one of my local mechanic overhaul my engine it was starting just that it had no power and it was rough idling, so after overhaul the engine is no longer starting no spark no petrol from the injectors he told me he fitted the wrong crankshaft for other polo now I have no idea what's going on

Check rear main oil seal, people have a tendency of buying the wrong one

rebuild my engine but engine just cranks no start. timing done correctly checked everything still no start someone help

@@tsholanangprecious6378 i did problem was crank sensor timing. been driving the car for months now. but its overfueling a lot now, changed spark plugs but still overfuels and exhaust has a strong smell of petrol any idea what it could be?
