In this tutorial I'll show you how to create a faux turquoise bangle using Tiny Pandora's bangle tool set. The whole process of making the bangle blank to apply the turquoise to is very easy and you can apply any technique you want to the blank once it is finish. Today we'll be using my faux turquoise technique. This will work with faux while howlite, rose quartz, calcite, jasper and many other stones. Have fun and let me know what you think.

Gorgeous! If you had fresh clay, I bet leaving the bits out on paper for a few hours or overnight would harden it up a bit. I don't think I would put as much brown and green in there, but would do the black paint. Well done.

Thank you for this Samantha! It is beautiful! I'm thinking about putting softer clay into the refrigerator for a while and see if that would make it easier to chop up. Also, do you think that it would be ok to skip the sanding, but wipe it good with alcohol first and get it as smooth as possible, using liquid clear clay for any cracks, bake it and then just add some Varathane or resin for shine? Also, it sounds heavy when you set it down, does it feel heavy? It seems like a lot of clay in this project. Thanks again for your help!
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 4 жыл бұрын
For this project sanding is necessary as it will help shape out the piece and gives it the sort of shine that a faux stone has. Also It is a bit heavy, but not too much. You could use scrap as the black base.
@niccidee782
@niccidee782 2 жыл бұрын
@@JessamaTutorials I was thinking the same as Kimberly. Using the scrap is a great idea, thanks for bringing that up. Is there anything else you could use instead of clay as the filler strips?

❤So very pretty. I just don't understand why you had to cover the turquoise in black paint just to sand it off.🤷‍♀️ It turned out lovely, so I'm happy you did. I just don't get that step.😊
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials Жыл бұрын
The paint is what creates the veins. What you can do, instead of having to do all the sanding, is press all the little bits together into a square log and takes slices from it. Press those together into a veneer and cover the bangle. The only reason I didn't do that on this tutorial was because that technique tends to create visible seems in the pattern.

Hi Samantha, I love turquoise and the bangle is so beautiful. I have some queries. Can we use only Alcohol Ink or only Acrylic Paint? Can we apply liquid clay on the first baked black template clay before applying the shaped clay? Since the cabochons are small pieces of clay joined together without being conditioned, won't they be brittle afterwards? Thanks a lot in advance.
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 4 жыл бұрын
You can use alcohol ink, acrylic paint or both if you want. Test the paint with the ink though as it might react and go sticky. This should happen with in minutes. Yes. You can use liquid clay. The cabochons were pressed together with a lot of force, binding the clay together. Also I tend to use cabochons on a clay or metal backing or bezel so they don't need to be extra strong. If you are worried you can add a little liquid clay to the pieces, press into the mold and then bake.

My thought was what if you had a ton of scrap clay and use the same technique you could get some really cool effects. Also as a thought take some gold freckled through would make even more realistic. Maybe add a little piece into the crumbles before the ink.
