Pompeii was a thriving Roman city in 79 AD when it was buried by the eruption of nearby Mount Vesuvius. The city remained buried until it was accidentally discovered again in 1592 by architect Domenico Fontana while digging an underground aqueduct. Minor excavations occurred leading up to a mass excavation ordered by Napoleon Bonaparte from 1806-1815. The site became a tourist destination for the next 250 years receiving millions of visitors in recent years.
I walked the site for a few hours, and then waited to begin filming after most tourists left the site. Join me and experience this uniquely tourist-free walk through the incredible ruins of Pompeii.

20:50 there is a wash basin looking thing, any idea what that is? Is it period?

It’s original as far as I know. It possibly could’ve been used for foot washing, but I’m not really sure.
