Working security in Reno for years taught me that the presence of a camera, even on a phone will often set the homeless off. It plays into thier delusions of being watched.

People need to realize that Las Vegas is its own planet at this point. A wild town with a ton of amazing people, and a few bad apples. If you are looking to go out to clubs, The strip can be an experience but it can be super expensive. The nightlife scene around Downtown/Fremont is truly amazing. The local scene is really dope. Just be aware of your surroundings and those around you. Thanks for the amazing videos and congratulations on your continued success, Pompsie. ❤🙏

Over 20 yrs ago, I bought a cone of ice cream at Downtown casino for $5 by paying with $50 bill. The bill went into the cash register so fast and when I asked for $45 change, I was told it"s $5 bill. On the Strip, I bought an average size apple for $3 by paying with a $20 bill. Once again, I was told it's a $5 bill and received $2 change. On the cab ride, the driver refused to return the $15 change. That was my last trip to Sin City.

My top 5. 1. Denny’s shooting scare 2. No ac at Luxor after spending 4 hours changing rooms. Got told we could get fan if we wanted. 3. Had lights turned off on me and locked inside the gym at Aria because the guy was angry 4. View of brick wall at mgm grand…. Demanded a room change or I wouldn’t leave the lobby. Ended up getting a bigger room though. 5. Was in traffic in front of Circus Circus in taxi. Guy gets out of car next to us and fired gunshots at someone. The guys on the st fires back…. Yeah. It was insane.

3. Never stay and watch a fight: important inner city rule. Emotions are too high. I’ve seen people shot as a result of being close to a fight. That being said, I went to Vegas in June and it was pretty “hot”… meaning people were tight, angry. Be careful out there.
@Kelly-tj8xv
@Kelly-tj8xv 3 жыл бұрын
I was there in June, and July, and the people were all very cool and happy. Yes, if you go to the bad areas, you'll find people angry and agitated as you found in the inner city. But tourists don't go to the inner city of Vegas. On the Strip and downtown Fremont, everyone was relaxed and happy. I think most of the people on the Strip are Californians like me, so very relaxed and enjoying being on vacation. Even the police that were walking were laughing and talking with everyone and helping them with directions. Only problem I saw all those days and nights was one time the police moved off a homeless man who was yelling. David Suggs, stay just on the Strip next time you're in Vegas.

I visited Vegas from 1995 to 2004, sometimes spending 6 months at time. Walked the strip many times, both during the day and late at night (3:00 am). Never saw a fight, never was propositioned by women. Vegas is wild...but not THAT wild.

My mother gave me the best advice when I was a kid in school through HS. She always said if there is a fight walk the other way. Never get involved never watch. Somehow you’ll get in the middle of it. She was so right. As usual. I always walked the other way. Nothing to see. No reason to watch kids beating each other up. And I never had a problem. I taught my son the same thing. Inevitably if you watch a fight somehow someway someone will take offense.

Omg thank you for making this video because I needed to hear all this. Last week my boyfriend and I went to Vegas, it was my fourth time and I was so excited to show him my favorite place in the world for the first time and I wanted him to love it too. On our second day there we were walking towards fashion show from Resorts World and this homeless guy screamed at us and I could tell there was going to be an issue. Long story short we got stuck with him at the crosswalk and he threatened to fight us, after we crossed the street he chucked his full beer at us barely missing us. I feel like that ruined our trip for the most part and really made me feel differently about the place. But thinking back on it there's so much to love about this place and this one incident shouldn't alter how I feel. Side note there needs to be more security or police on the actual strip though. This didn't just happen to us on the trip, it happened to multiple other groups of people that we saw as well.

As a former security guard I met alot of homeless people who always have some level of mental illness. One thing I learned is that when they get angry and start threatening others, its usually to someone they think is harmless to them. So now if any of them come near me I don't say a word and just get ready to defend myself while giving them the "I'll kill you" look. One look at me and they know I am ready for whatever comes my way. That usually intimidates them enough to back off.

Street people are in every major city in the U.S.A. They can be a real problem. I have gone to conventions in other cities (Kansas City, KS, Dallas, Miami) and the same thing has been reported to me from others. Please do not down grade Vegas because of a few bad apples.

The four of us were walking, about 3:30pm in the Fremont district. I guy pulling his suitcase, plowed through us screaming: "Get out of the way!!!!" and just busted through us. We tried to move away, but my foot got caught on a wheel of his suitcase and it spun around. He thought I did it deliberately and started screaming and swearing at us, telling us what he would do wo us. We just stood there and said nothing. We were pretty shocked. We tried not to look at him. Eventually, considering he didn't get us to respond to him, just walked away. He was a fairly young guy. I won't tell you anything more about him, but I'll leave it up to you to "fill in the blanks." Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)

When being run at from behind, Stop, Drop, and Turn. Let them trip over you. Their attitude changes quick with a face full of sidewalk. Casually walk over to them as they start to get up, than lower yourself by bending at the knees to get to their level, and give them a shot to the eye with your fist. Now they are temporarily blinded and disoriented. Fights over. Collect your friend and walk away at your leisure.

I paid Uber 62 dollars on a Friday night from Golden Nugget to Planet Hollywood. They call it surge pricing. During the day the same ride was 12 dollars. I was in Vegas for 10 nights and spent about 500 on Uber. Despite the price gouging it was very efficient and cut down on distances I had to walk. Rideshare was not allowed because of the pandemic.

Hey Pompsie, I'm not sure if you'll read this but I frequently visit Vegas on average of 4 times per year and after seeing your blurry video of the homeless guy running at you while you were on the scooter, it was immediately clear to me that this is the exact same homeless guy who tried to attack me in Vegas while I was walking by too. In my case, about one year ago I was walking from the Wynn to that Walgreens near Venetian and I was on that long stretch of sidewalk directly in front of Palazio. As I was walking down the sidewalk towards Venetian, that same crazy homeless guy was walking in the opposite direction coming from the Venetian side going towards Wynn. Similar to you, I was not looking at him. Right before we crossed paths, he suddenly lunged at me for absolutely no reason with both fists in the air yelling like a total maniac and right at the last minute, I jumped backwards and barely jumped out of his way or else I, too, would have been attacked. I'm about 6"5 much bigger than you, and I was shocked and angered by the experience. I looked around and of course, there were no cops or patrol people in the area. Seeing your account and relating it to mine, this is clearly the case of a crazy homeless guy trying to scare people and give them really bad experiences. Based on the pattern and similar movements in our experiences, I honestly do not think his intention is anything more. I'm really sorry this happened to you and if anything, your bad run-in with this guy is a testament to your journeys all over Vegas. In other words, you haven't fully experienced Vegas until you have a run in with this wacko! lol

I know this is an old comment, but yes it absolutely does. My heads always on a swivel there. Usually when you’re actively watching, the ones who’d prey on the unsuspecting ones can pick up on your defensive energy, and usually avoid you. I just have my hand on my pepper spray or box cutter, and I constantly am looking. It gets complicated when you’re walking with a group, especially when they’re far from observant.

SO0o relatable! I lived in Vegas from Jan 2016- Dec 2020. I lived downtown in 2017 and did not realize there was a whole community of homeless people living a half mile up the road 😅 skid row much? I worked some... interesting jobs, including Security for MGM and yes, some security officers abuse their clearance, so your trespass experience is actually more common than you think. My most recent job, before moving back to California, was an Assistant Bar Manager and if I can recall, it is illegal to refuse someone water 🤔 hmm... that bartender was probably just a miserable, greedy **🙊** . ANYWAY! Love your content! Keep it up 🙂👍🏻

My wife and I had a similar experience with a homeless guy at the strip mall just south of Miracle Mile. He would creep up behind us, and then back up every time I turned around. At one point, he got close enough that I could feel his breath on my neck. I really thought I was going to have to fight him. I'm a big guy and I can handle myself, but I've never enjoyed fighting. And now that I'm in my 40s, I can't imagine that the post-fight aches and pains would be fun. Thankfully, he finally knocked it off, but it was no fun at all.

This is a lie some bartenders say to make extra tips, especially in a busy club/bar. They have MORE then enough singles in their tips to break bills and make change. There are no forty dollar bills so at the very least they were charging over 20 dollars for a single bottle of water, that's disgusting. And for bar staff to claim they don't have any change is ridiculous, I worked in this very industry for over 30 years.

I could make like 10 stories alone since I’ve moved here it has been crazy! I’ve been trying to not let this get too me but everything has made me sad here lately. In June I remember i dodged this homeless dudes fist to the back of the head and all his punches. All on the strip. I watched him rob CVS and sock others 🤣

When I was there in June, I saw two homeless people fighting. It was near the little side street after the Miracle Mile shops and before Paris. People were alerted but no one paid any attention to them. My husband and I also saw a drunk guy fall at a curb but he quickly got up and continued walking, as if it didn't happen. I agree with the not making eye contact with homeless people, which is true for any big city, and also be careful of people who are drinking too much. Although, we saw worse on Bourbon st at night than the Vegas strip. Looking forward to the Summerlin video. We've enjoyed getting off the strip during our past visits. Our next trip we're staying off strip and exploring the beauty of the surrounding areas.

Well, go to a club in Ibiza and watch them turn off the water for every toilet sink so people need to buy the overprised water in the bar - because everyone is doing some sketchy drug and get thirsty - good thing about this is if you like beer or drinks like we do here is queue to the bar :)

I love it. Honestly hated it fist time although now I love it. Wife & I go yearly for a get away to focus on us. We leave the kid with Grandma & Grandpa which is slightly out of the way yet not terrible on our drive. We stay for a week just vegging out at the pool go for a walk on the strip. We don't gamble we don't do the casinos

Well, I gamble and get my drinks free and I don’t drink so I usually get a bottle of water for a $2 tip - I figured it out, my free waters cost me about $502. each when you add in my losses! So, $20 is a steal, lol 😝
