The plaintiff says she bought a puppy from the defendant, but the puppy needed eye surgery. She’s suing for the vet bills she had to pay. The defendant says the plaintiff insisted on taking the puppy home before he was 8 weeks old, and he warned her she’d have to take responsibility. He claims the dog was healthy.

@ariannasantina
@ariannasantina Жыл бұрын
the dog isnt blind, luckily. the condition is where the dog has a bit of extra eyelid that folds over into the eyesocket... since their eyelids have hairs/fur then the eyelid that is curled over into the eyesocket has hairs that constantly rub and irritate the dogs eye. (that why the pups eyes were red, watery and crusty) the vet has to do surgery on the eye to go in and remove the extra bit of skin and then stitch it up so it doesnt droop back into the eyesocket. im sure the surgery itself is risky just because going in that area near he eyes is a sensitive area but the dog shouldnt have any actual blindness and the pup is lucky he had such a dedicated dog-mom who took the pup to be assessed and have the surgery right away when its young. some dogs live with that for a long time and just deal with constant eye irritation. kody got to have his surgery as a pup and should live a nice healthy happy life

Ppl need to educate themselves on proper & responsible breeding BEFORE buying puppies from clearly backyard breeders. This isn't a breeder issue. This is a backyard breeder issue.
@OfficiallyLydiasLife
@OfficiallyLydiasLife Жыл бұрын
@@christylawrence1268 As a dog trainer, it's bc with a good breeder (which this guy IS NOT), u are guaranteed a healthy puppy. (In fact a good breeder has a 2 year health guarantee which this guy clearly didn't...). They also do all genetic testing (so this would have shown up had he done it...), OFAs, temp testing, puppy culture, bio sensory training, penhip, early socialization, contracts (including that u CAN'T breed to prevent BYB),etc. This guy was clearly a BYB. For starters no good breeder sells a poodle pup for only 1.2K 🫠😂🥴 All the genetic & testing they have to do, costs $ so it drives up the price. No good breeder also sells a dog below 8 weeks old, and most reputable breeders sell at 10-12 weeks old. Also in the contract good breeders will have a thing that says if u can't keep the puppy for ANY reason, to return it to the breeder so they can eaither rehome it or keep it depending on circumstances. Bc good breeders want to prevent dogs ending up in shelters & rescues to begin with, starting with the source. Good breeders also breed to breed standard, so u get a dog who is in AKC standard to their breed. And plenty more I don't have room for good breeders do. Not everyone wants a Backyard bred mutt or even Purebred from a rescue or shelter. And if you're looking for a specific temperament, working dog, specific traits, etc, it's better to go with a GOOD breeder. As a dog trainer, it's EXTREMELY rare for a shelter dog to have a temperament to be a service dog, police K9, lifeguard dog, etc. And if they are temp, it's a huge risk bc u do not have their entire Pedagree or genetic testing results, therefore u don't know if they will develop health issues younger needing to retire or develop joint disorders bc the parents aren't OFA approved, etc .. This isn't a breeding problem... This is a backyard breeding problem which this guy clearly is... Shelters & rescues work for some ppl, esp ppl simply looking for a lovable companion pet, but ppl can still do rescues not responsibly, such as the fact if u do, u need to be open that if that dog has severe anxieties or PTSD or anything due to it's pass, you'll have to deal with it. The most promising way to get a stable & healthy dog is a reputable breeder. Which if a shelter works for someone that's great, but it curtainly doesn't work for all, bc it's all situational, what someone needs & even wants, and preference. As a dog trainer who's seen A LOT of different experiences, I'll always go with a ethical and reputable standard poodle breeder. Bc I'd rather pay 2K for a puppy, then end up with a genetic mess with a poor temperament due to being backyard bred & a history idk about. This guy is a backyard breeder. This isn't ethical or responsible breeding...

Entropion is rough... we had a Chow Chow who showed signs of it as a puppy and she needed the surgery. What they actually do is cut a tiny pie shape into the upper lid, and then sew the little missing pie piece closed so it pulls the eyelid where the eyelashes are up so the lashes don't scratch the eyes. And I have heard that some dogs have needed a second procedure as vets are usually conservative with the cut so they don't cut out too much and the eyelid won't close properly. Usually, the first procedure is successful.

If you breed dogs NEVER take a deposit as it makes the buyer feel obliged to take the pup and NEVER remove the pup from mama as the pup needs the social skills and weaning properly from mama…but first try a poodle rescue home. You can get purebreds that need a decent home and the plaintiff looks like she is willing to care for her dog and yes you can teach an old dog new tricks, so don’t write off an older dog just because of that.

entropian....the eyekid curls in and the hair bothers the cornea. When the pup is old enough and vaxxed, you can do surgery....take a tiny strip of skin from the botton eyelid and suture it together. (if they take too much skin out, the eyelid will curl out and you will see the eyes cry.) It's really unusual for entropion to happen later (ie the vet has to watch to see etc) unless an injury happens to the eyelid.

So the guy is a puppy broker. NEVER, ever purchase a dog from a puppy broker. He didn't breed the dog, he purchased the puppy from a puppy mill for cheaper and then turned around and sold them for more. Also he totally did not care about selling this dog at 6 weeks. He also is denying that this is genetic. Entropion isn't caused by "something at her house." The woman is also a moron because Judge Milian point blank told her this is genetic and asked if she was planning to breed it and the woman is still considering breeding him. He should not be bred, he will pass this on to his puppies and she will be responsible. FFS. All of the people in this situation are dumb.

A competent vet would know what potential eye disorders the different breeds might have, regardless, he would do a thorough exam. Entropion is easy to diagnose. It doesn't seem like this plaintiff is able to understand the information being imparted.

Jesus running up and down stairs is not a sign the dog should take away from its MOTHER. That is not a sign of socially being ready which is a huge reason to keep it longerm jesus this guy shoild not breed ever

🐾I love all animals, and I know there's a lot of people that love Poodles, but other than the breed being hypoallergenic & apparently highly intelligent, for some reason I don't find their appearence to be very attractive; but to each is own for sure. Maybe I'm just more of a Yellow Labrador or Australian Shepherd kind of girl, Lol! 🐕‍🦺

First, no dog is hypoallergenic. Most of what causes dog allergies are concentrated in the saliva. Second, adopt, don't shop. Third, mixed breeds are almost always healthier than pure breeds. Breeders for profit need to be stopped.

So much to unpack. First of all, the dog wasn’t sleep, he was asleep. She kept mispronouncing the defendants name. She thought she could get money for a surgery that hasn’t even happened yet. He let go of a puppy before eight weeks which is a big no-no. Part of the reason they have to stay with their mom that long is behavioral issues. The defendant also said that it could’ve been something in the plaintiffs home that caused the issue when the judge clearly stated that the vet had determined it was a congenital defect. Both of these people are morons. I feel sorry for the dogs.

U are correcting her, but the basics of linguistics teaches the most imperative lesson is being understood. You understood that the young lady’s puppy was not awoke upon delivery, didnt you? Being bombastic is not a laudable personality trait, imho. Let’s not dehumanize the litigants for kicks and giggles. In certain America communities peers refer to each other with surnames (sport teams), in others firsts name(at a college party), in other instances ppl use nicknames (among childhood playmates). It’s not uncommon for America citizens to not know the legal name of childhood playmates as nicknames are much easier to remember. Names like duck,moose, spud, whitey, rink, Mickey were all so common among the population of the 1930s and 1940, don’t u remember?
