The Pink Bird isn’t really scary, but I do think it acts pretty interesting. It doesn’t look like a monster, it doesn’t act like a monster. It acts like a curious animal, it stares at you like it’s sizing you up. It’s interested. It’s so uncanny, but I kind of like it

If you look in that end scene dark room, on the escalators, the opposite side of the doors, you can find in staring at you for a split second, so I guess It's a sneak peek that It's gonna return when you least expect it...

It always astounds me how attentive Matt can be for lore while simultaneously not noticing the most simple changes in the room for the gameplay. That Orange button lighting up after the drone hits the button is just screaming at him when he turns around but god dam does he just wander out of that room and down the corridor looking for what changed.

With as many cliches jammed into this game, you really have to appreciate the flamingo. It’s intimidating as it stares lifelessly at you while it inches closer in the chair lift. The diseased-looking pigeon eyes really gives you a sense of unease. Having it also cautiously sidestepping when you look at it is a really nice realistic touch rather than have it rush you mindlessly like a programmed ai. It’s not a terrifying enemy, but it’s easy to avoid and unsettling enough to make you worry what monsters will come next.

That little side step catches you off guard. It gives the impression that there is some higher inteligence than just mindless AI navigation, that the monster is actually _waiting for you to act_ and it is very effective horror-wise. And I absolutely hate it, throw it off a window

Like many others pointed out, he said he wanted one as if it didn’t exist or he wasn’t aware of them when he has played this exact type of game in the past and never came back to the series. It’s just funny he seems to have forgotten. Either the game didn’t make much of an impression or he didn’t really like it as much as he believed he would.

Once the reviews on Steam were saying that this game was only mildly scary, I decided to watch this video. I'm not a big horror fan but I am a big GTLive fan. :) Oh, also the beginning of the game, said "mother looking for her missing child" or something like that so I think we're the mom.

Did anyone pick up on the fact that the “skip time” room at the very beginning, was the purple room that mat pat failed to open? You could see the same character in the hall outside, and it was one of the rooms we didn’t open. This wouldn’t be the doors off the cafeteria because that room had two sets of doors 🫶🏻

I'll give the devs this : The part where the bird approached using the ski lift contraption was *sorta* scary. Maybe it's just me, but I don't care how stupid your character is, if they slowly approach from the darkness while you're completely helpless, it can be pretty spooky. But the death scene was so blatantly a ripoff and it just looks dumb. Thank you for listening to my TEDTalk. (TEDWrite? Idk)

This game scares me, not because it's actually scary tho. It gives me backrooms/liminal anxiety feelings from how cruddy/empty its environments are made. Task successfully failed if you asked me, but I would definitely not say it's a good game...

I wonder if Game Theory has any concerns or matters with wherever the horror genre goes for gaming. Like, there's been countless video essays and complaints about FNAF: Security Breach, Bendy and the Ink Machine, and Poppy Playtime sparking a new generation of "Kids Horror" that's just used to make money with colorful mascots and characters and all that.

In my Game History class we had to make a video essay about a current trend in games (table top or video) and I chose to do mine on the current Business Model of Indie Horror Games because that's a topic I enjoy. I have it up on my channel if you wanna watch it; but a quick run down is that there's a trend set out by 5 Nights at Freddy's where you release short bursts of content that get picked up by Content Creators which act as free advertising, and between installments you release merch in order to make $$$. This game is speed running that business model

My thoughts on the game: The Opila scene near the end was pretty fun and even though I don’t think this game looks or plays that well, I though the same about Poppy Playtime when Chapter 1 was out, but that’s now changed and I quite like that game so maybe something similar will happen.

My boyfriend just yesterday told me to avoid this game at all costs. I told him in responses that I usually just watch Matpat play whatever and aren't picky on what it is so if Matt uploads it I'll watch it and that Matt will probably have come funny commentary on top of the game anyway. All I wanted to mention is that this is the state of popular horror games: There are plenty of amazing horror games that are terrifying and fun at the same time, yet most KZfaqrs decide to play games like Poppy Playtime, Rainbow Friends, and now Garten of Banban, which are, what I like to categorize them as, “Pop Horror Games” Edit: I realize now that KZfaqrs prefer these kinds of games since they’re more exciting, but ‘real’ horror games use other tactics to scare the player, so watching them can be quite boring. So I guess “Pop Horror Games” are just horror games that are the most fun when watching other people play them.

I agree poppy playtime has its flaws and is definitely a product of the mascot horror era. I wouldn't put it as low as the other games you mentioned. Whether or not you find poppy playtime scary the animation is really impressive and definitely their strong point. These games have such watered down bare minimum of the mascot horror with no effort put into any quality

People say this is a fan game of poppy playtime but I see this as its own game with its own style, yes it's similar to Poppy playtime but it's still its own thing and it's very interesting and I can't wait for more of this game.

6:10 There is a cool spot the difference game called "I'm on observation duty" I don't think you've ever played it before. Idk if there is a definite story but there are few pieces of lore found in the different modes of the game

I feel like the beginning is more for exposition. It is supposed to explain the events going on before you show up. Pressing the clock is like skipping through time as if you are looking at a security recording. Pressing skip just skips that intro.
