www.cosmeticsbusiness.com/new...
Heyyyyy thennnnnn,
Obviously, as I review and pretty much collect so many different types of products and brands, I get comments suggesting brands I should test, which I love! The comments section is where I discover a lot of new brands. But there are some that i've tried and hated and….probably will never show up on my channel anymore!
So today I thought id share some brands that….ive tried a fair amount of products from but…and...have always been left disappointed with. And also some products I will never try!
And please remember that just because I don’t like these brands products, doesn’t mean they aren’t good or that I thin k they should all burn in hell, its just unfortunately more of their products were a thumbs down rather than a thumbs up for me!

I had a toddler with eczema before doctors really told you what it was and how to treat it properly. I found shea butter in a clinique body butter wth no fragrance, It went on easy but was a super good moisturizer. I woke up one morning and at 3 months he was just a red oozing sore. It was horrible. the doctors said,It will clear up when he turns one," Shit oh dear my little boy was not going to look like that for 9 months. I took him to every doctor under the sun. The only think that worked was that shea butter from Clinique. I was so grateful to that company for that one product. So I guess this is that product I would reccommend James!

I'm a nurse who takes care of the elderly... CeraVe is in ALL their apartments. I've always looked at it like an "old people with old people skin problems" HOWEVER, now at 35 working full time with 3 boys---I have no time for these 10 step beauty routines so I went for it after a resident gave me a speech on why it's good. I bought the face wash, day moisturizer with spf and nighttime cream. Easy and simple---My skin hasn't been this good in years!!! I get compliments like crazy. It is boring but it works for me 😁😂

oh you can educate me on this. my bf asked me a few weeks ago how Tokyo is read because in our mother tongue it's usually written as tokio and read as [to-ki-yo] but i saw transcriptions as [tókjó] so I believe it's read as [tok-yo] in Japanese but as far as I know you can't write that in hiragana nor katakana and it's for sure written in kanji so is the first kanji in the word read as [tok]? haha i hope you understand me, it's so hard for me to explain.
@PettankoXO
@PettankoXO 3 жыл бұрын
it’s actually broken up as To-Kyo. To as in East and Kyo as in capitol city, So the eastern capitol city Where as Kyoto is just capitol city, because it was the original capitol before changing in 1868 :)
@anakano9273
@anakano9273 3 жыл бұрын
rice opener like the other person mentioned, the kanji translates to “Eastern Capital,” and is said “Tokyo”; reading kanji is a little weird in that it requires a contextual understanding that won’t necessarily translate directly. So together 東京 is the kanji for “Tokyo,” but those characters individually alone would not be read as”to” or “kyo.” So for example 東 means “east” or “eastern”; as a noun is “azuma.” You are right on that there isn’t a way to write tok-yo (or to-k-yo) in hiragana, but when you reimagine as to-kyo, then it’s ときょ . Using katakana wouldn’t really make sense for this because Tokyo isn’t a foreign word to Japanese. Hope that all helped clarify!
@MagicalKid
@MagicalKid 3 жыл бұрын
What about 'matcha' cuz the difference is just one consonant
@anakano9273
@anakano9273 3 жыл бұрын
@@MagicalKid Ah good question. One clarification first-- while it seems like there's just that swap between a "T" and an "M," but that's not really how the thinking works in Japanese. "Ta" and "Ma" are two totally different "letters" in hiragana, which we can think of as like a phonetic, syllabic alphabet. There's not really an English equivalent to hiragana that I know of. So まis "ma", while た is "ta." It might make more sense to think of this a different in syllables; in English, changing a little bit in a syllable would make a huge difference! But technicalities aside, your suspicions are on the right track! "Matcha" is an Anglosization. As with "Tatcha," the "TCH" isn't a phonetic combination in Japanese. While many Japanese will recognize and understand "matcha," it is understood as a foreign word. "Maccha" is the closest thing to a Japanese spelling, and the "t" was added for Western audiences for phonetic accuracy.

I thought I stressed this enough by repeating myself over and over but CERAVE IS AN AMAZING BRAND with basic, straight to the point products that tend to work for everyone, all skin types etc etc. I recommend it to friends and family. But I'm just saying here, how it will never be something I review, because I find the products boring. The packaging is boring, the products all smell and feel like prescription skincare. Just my opinion, but yes AMAZING brand. What are your favourite CeraVe Products?

As a scientist, while i am a packaging freak at heart, i cant justify ever buying any of those brands like tatcha and la mer. With that said, ive used almost all tatcha products as far as moisturizers, face washes, and toners go. And theyre just blah at best and irritating at worst. My issue is that these brands take scientific studies, misrepresent them, and fool the public into thinking a certain ingredient applied topicallh will have the same outcome as intraveneous absorptiob. Its deceiving because while blueberries may be great for you ingested, rubbing them on your face will not give you the same antioxidant benefits. The same thing with all this tatcha seaweed crap, its not actually proven to work at the concentrations provided on top of being used topically. Drunk elephant just pisses me off with their anti silicone nonsense when it is literally the most inert ingredient in the world that is so non toxic it is ingested and used internally during surgeries. Silicones are too large to clog your pores PERIOD. Yes cerave is fruit and veg but literally i get people commenting on my skin on a daily basis and ask what facialist i have or what i do. I simply eat healthy and lots of meat and veggies because , yes ladies, you need fat for beautiful skin. I have switched to cerave for 3 years now and that has made all the difference. I have instead transferred my packaging obsession to make up and perfume to make up for the aesthetically displeasing nature of cerave products lol

Astrid Vandevoorde - I sent this question to James under another video, but here in the states we have drug store brands for all the Cerave products (and other brands) that are supposed to be exact dupes, according to a dermatologist on KZfaq. So I’m guessing that you don’t have them? (that was my question to James). 😕 Half the price or better, especially when they’re on sale buy-two-get-one-free, like they were here last week. Maybe you could order online from Walgreens or Walmart if the customs fee is not too high? Walmart brand is “Equate” and Walgreens is just called “Walgreens advanced moisturizing cream” (or lotion, cleanser, etc.) if you are interested.

I didn’t really like the feel of it either. I been using shiseido for almost 10 years but they stopped the pureness line for oil control. So their new line isn’t really the same as pureness... so I’m trying to find something that works. Medo Fawzy I have sensitive skin that tends to react negatively to most skincare, foundations. I started using Drunk Elephant Juju & Pekee cleansing bars for a couple years & I rarely get breakouts. The improvement was so great that I left a really nice comment which they ended up quoting it in a future post caption (which they didn’t tell me they were doing). Recently they started only carrying the mini duo set of bars with this plastic travel case & raised the price so I now have multiple that I never use which is quite wasteful. When I tried messaging them about my disappointment, I got no response. I’ll continue to use the soaps but this comment made me laugh my ass off, Medo! 😂 I do think the founder started with good intentions but now that DE has become successful, their behavior/PR is SO. NOT. COOL.

I use CeraVe because my skin reacts to LITERALLY everything. I found CeraVe through Hyram and have since bought the eye cream, the moisturizer, the face wash, the micellar water, and the 50 SPF sunscreen. Every single one of these items has this little seal that says they are accepted by the national eczema people, which is honestly why I bought them. My face doesn't get red or inflamed, my skin feels like human skin again instead of snake skin, and I actually love the simplicity of the products. So, to summarize, I use CeraVe because it is the only thing my face doesn't react to. I wish I had known about them years ago.

hot take but i actually love the medicinal feel of CeraVe. it makes me feel like i’m healing my skin and being healthy. also i have dark spots so their foaming cleanser (which ive used for over a year) has helped chip away at that. however, at this point my skin has reached a level that i only use the cleanser and the night cream and have tried other brands now.

It's a perfect brand for people who are on prescription retinoids or benzoyl peroxide. It moisturizes sooo well. Especially since some of the prescription strength skin care can dry your skin out. I think that's why it's not that impressive to him 🤣🤣.

I think CeraVe is a great everyday body lotion, and a good cleanser to keep on hand in case of an allergic reaction to product! Pixi on the other hand I agree. It's a bit on the pricier side for a "drug store product", and I don't like how strong all of their products smell. I used to use the rose caviar essence and it irritated my skin (probably because all of the heavy fragrance), but I did very really boujee using it!
