Why Stan is one of the greatest songs of all time: 1: It’s over 6 minutes and 30 seconds long 2: Tells a heartbreaking and inspiring story 3: Has multiple characters 4: Instrumentals are insane 5: The lyrics are golden

Origin Stan (fan) The word “stan” originates from an Eminem song released in 2000 titled “Stan.” The word is a combination of the words “stalker” and “fan.” The song is set as a series of letters between Eminem and fan named Stan who feels obligated to receive letters from Eminem just because he’s a fan of his work

the song is over 21 years old and its still not getting old, it never will. it will always be in music history as one of the best songs of the lifetime. the story telling, word choices and sound effects create a wonderful image in the head and bring a sort of peace to the ears. its calm mostly, but has a deep message. Every time I hear the part where Em realises it was Stan who killed himself, I start to tear up. It’s not just a catchy tune, it’s one of the greatest stories ever told. The best song doesn’t have auto tune or complex beat drops or fast parts. It’s the one with the best story. One that makes you think, or the writer put thought into it.

Not a rap fan, but always loved Eminem, and this one in particular. 'Stan' is for all those of us struggling with life, insecurities, worries, self doubt, needing help. I'm feeling all these things right now. I wish I could go back 20+ years and make changes to my life. I walked away from the only person I've ever loved, and fucked up five lives in the process.
@benceturda65582 жыл бұрын
I've done the same brother. I just wanted to spare the one i loved, so i left her. I knew hard times are peeking me just right the corner and i did not want to pull her into danger. In the process of sparing her i just ruined her, and my life aswell. Since then i just refuse every single chanche of happyness. I already ruined a life. Wont do it again. I know it is just an average story. I just wanted to tell that you are not alone with this struggle! ❤️

This story is basically that song I loved a girl for the first time in the inside but since I was a shy person because I was bullied in elementary I could not tell her I liked her she was my best friend too when the school year ended COVID started so I was separated from her I thought the next year we could see each other again but I was wrong then that year ended too and I move out of Miami because of rising rent there was nothing I could do my family was too poor to stay in the city and so I was out of time I still dwell on this story today I should let go it’s quite pointless I hope you all the best there’s people beyond saving but y’all definitely aren’t them so keep your chest high maybe grow some muscles if you don’t have some and have a good time your life doesn’t end until you die even the youngest pass away so make it count

@@different_nba how about both, both is good. They are both wonderful. I have my bias over NF, but I love eminem, he's a wonderful artist. Both of them are real, raw rappers who tell stories. Almost everyone i know doesn't give a shit about lyrics of the songs. Shit, even when they sing it every single day. I just don't get how they could like songs and sing them all the time but never understood what the songs were about. Some mfs would sing songs about love and peace and proceed to beat their partners and kids and fight family members afterwards. Play songs about criticizing the government then turn a blind eye to the atrocities the government is doing and vote for the worst candidate there could be.

@@Nintendo_song-maker this song always gives me a bittersweet feeling bc I used to listen to em all the time with my brothers when things were simpler and there weren’t all these adult problems, it’s nice sometimes to reminisce in the past but it’s more important to snap back to the present. The past is like quick sand and if you stay in too long you’ll be gone for good. Hope you get through whatever you going through. My advice would be to do something that requires you to be active to remind yourself you’re in the present.

I think rather it's a commentary on parasocial relationships. The fan goes from loving to obsessive, going as far to hurt himself and people around him to prove a point. He's entirely obsessed with someone who doesn't even know who he is. Just imagine, there are thousands of stans. There are so many fans that Eminem couldn't possibly write them all in a reasonable amount of time without going mental.
