While I’m a woodworker and love to learn the old world craft, I love the sound of his voice. My Hungarian grandmother lived with us until she died at age 84. Mr. Klausz’ accent is so reminiscent of my grandmother’s. I love how it takes me back.

FWW used to have a video on making these joints using a radial arm saw. Brilliant method and he did them as dovetails. The adjustments on the radial arm saw allowed the joint thickness to be very precisely adjusted. Frank's first video was with FWW.

Hey Frank! I miss seeing and talking w/ you. We talked at length each time you were at Novi, MI & you got a cot for me to stay in your room at the Doubletree before I headed back to the Upper Peninsula. You might recall that I played guitar & sang you & the others 'Leader of the Band', about the cabinet maker's son, by Dan Fogelberg. Tried to write you in Pluckemin, but the letter got returned to sender, & I tried to visit your shop years ago when I was at a Lutherie convention in East Stroudsburg, but you were busy. Hope our paths cross again!

The cam is overall 9 inches long; the round is 4 inches in diameter. If you were looking at the piece with the handle at 3 O'clock, there is a line drawn at 7:30. The pivot is .5" along that line. The plans are in Oct 2006 issue, and may be available on the website

Great jig and explanation. Do you use a miter sled along with your jig to do the angles for the seat frame? I would like to see a tutorial of you doing the angles and lengths for the seat frame.

In my shop I have a 10' sliding table saw, 1 1/4" spindle shaper and the list as you can imagine goes on and on and I will never with all my expensive machinery achieve the old world woodworking way as this gentleman has dedicated his life to.

Frank, your a genius but why use a table saw when you can make the joint better and faster using hand tools?!
@HondoTrailside
@HondoTrailside 2 жыл бұрын
You can't. In the longer tape he shows both methods. But the saw will do it in seconds. For a few joints you can be faster by hand, but for a lot of similar joints, no way. And the saw leaves perfectly clean surfaces and invisible glue joints. This kind of bridle joint is basically a machine joint. Look at his hand cut mortise joint, those inside surfaces a are a mess. There are hand tool processes that are cleaner than machines, but not all are.

Why not make sure that you are truly saved by Jesus Christ and practice this way. Remorsefully confess with your heart your sins to Jesus Christ who is God and tell Him that you right now are repenting of your sins and you want to be born again of the Spirit from above. Tell Jesus that you are remorsefully sorry for breaking His commandments and that you are begging for forgiveness from Him. Allow His blood from the cross to wash away your sins. After this is done with your heart successfully the Holy Spirit will come to live within you and He will rebuild you from the inside out. Look for signs that you are saved. Things like spreading the good news from Jesus, getting other people saved, a craving for the word of God, reading the Bible, etc… These things are known as a calling and fruit bearing. If you're not bearing fruit then keep doing it. Sometimes it takes time to get saved. Read Matthew chapter 13 from the King James Bible. God bless!!!!!!!
