Pork and Shrimp Shumai is easy to make at home. You may use either dumpling or wonton wrappers as I did in the recipe. They are full of flavors, and go well with a cup of tea. Enjoy Dim Sum at home!
Ingredients:
4 oz ground pork
5 shrimp, finely chopped
2 dried or fresh shiitake mushrooms, diced
1/2 carrot, diced
3 green onions, white part
white pepper powder
salt
grated ginger
sesame oil
oyster sauce
Shaoxing cooking wine (optional)
dumpling or wonton wrappers
chili oil for dipping

I made Shumai on Monday! I miss going out for dim sum. I made it actually the same way you did, but I only had dumpling wrappers. I made 30. 15 to eat with family and I froze the other half. Also, I found your chili oil recipe and made it and it is SO GOOD!! I’m so glad to have you on KZfaq! Many thanks, Ling! It’s always a wonderful surprise, every video!

Good morning, Ling! Thank you for your recipe! You don’t put Yú luǎn on top? Siu Mai is so good, as is all Dim Sum. Love Chiwei Zhengpaigu (with the squash on the bottom), Har Gow, Fung Zao, Jian Dui, Gai Lan, Chaohou Fun Guo, No Mai Gai, Xiaolongbao, Cheong Fun, Dantat, Cha Siu Bao ... now I’m hungry!! My family loves Chinese cooking, especially Dim Sum. We learned how to order in Cantonese via cooks, waiters/waitresses at different restaurants in the International District in Seattle. Some I still have trouble pronouncing! 😊
