Your flesh is weak but your spirit is strong. I’m glad you said that because as Christians, myself especially, I think we focus so much on our weak flesh, but rarely mention the strong spirit. And it’s not our own strength, it’s the spirit of God living in us.

1)remove all temptations; visual cues. 2)confess inability and Christs ability 3)repent every time. Move on and don’t look back. Eventually we overcome. Besetting sins. Sins we did a lot for a long time. God often leaves behind so we can see our own weakness and inability. Our issue is always faith. There is a lie we believe. For me when I tried accountability and doing all these things to stop myself. Didn’t work. Made it stronger in me. Attack the root, not the fruit. And often times need deliverance from “animal Lust”.

This is good advice and I believe it will help people, definitely. I just wonder, when do we say no to someone who's sinning? We're told not to associate with immoral believers, but we're also supposed to forgive our brother 70 times 7 times. How does this work? Addiction is a messy area and I'm sure it was always this way. I gather the guy who got cast out in 1 Cor 5, was totally unrepentant? Would appreciate some insight to this. Thank you.

He had sex with his stepmom. Older guys are better at teaching. Don’t need no partner. If God can make it so we never sin again….yet he doesn’t. He makes us struggle. Why? Bc we still haven’t learned our utter inability and somewhere in us we think we can overcome in our own strength. It takes time. Look at Peter. Self reliant. Self confident. God uses our sin to break down our confidence. We overcome when we admit to God we cannot overcome.

God will answer all our questions by one way only. By showing us more of His son. Not struggle but yielding Not effort but union Do not mourn over __________. Or think of our inability to quit as bad. But pray. “I praise and thank you because I __________. I praise and thank you that I cannot keep from ________But I also praise and thank you that you can make me quit __________. You can take it away from me. You are able.” I __________is unable to quit _______But God is able to make me quit. Grace = God for me. I praise God that ________ is most corrupt. I thank him that once again Christ manifests his power in me. I confess to him Oh God I have neither goodness nor righteousness or holiness nor patience. But I thank and praise you Bc I have not and will not. Hereafter Oh God I commit my all to you. From now on it is your son who overcomes for me.

I know Jesus did not sin but if he wanted to could he have committed sin? Or was it impossible for him to sin?

I don't think there is a way to know here on earth. I would say impossible, because he couldn't want to... basically both options kind of show it was "impossible".

I don't know if this will exactly answer your question - “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15)

He could not sin because God is his Father. 1 John 3:3-10. That which is born of God cannot sin. Jesus had a body incapable of sinning, but it was capable of full fledged temptation. Thanks! - Trent
