I worked on this for myself a few years ago: give grace towards others even if they don't deserve it. We don't deserve it, and yet God still keeps giving grace to us as the body of Christ. Be thankful for other people's choices, whether those choices hurt you or help you. Be grateful for the good experiences and the bad experiences. In other words, be thankful in all things.

This is definitely a hard one but one thing that is helpful for me personally is that forgiveness does not excuse what someone did. It puts the focus on grace in spite of what the wrong was that had been committed. To your point about forgetting. It seems that it’s not that you don’t remember what had happened but that you do not keep bringing that remembrance into the present day. I find one of my biggest problems is as they say , to leave the past in the past. It is God’s perfect grace in which he does not actively remember our sins and wrongdoings using them forever against us for which if we are to extend the same grace he gives us, we should do the same or else forgiveness hasn’t really occurred. Hard to do as humans but always possible in Christ

I never had anything i couldnt forgive with time. Maybe i have been blessed to not have anything to bad happen. Who knows.

I was recently thinking to myself, that I have never really been in a situation where I need to forgive someone, I was always the one that needed the forgiveness. But wouldn't ya know it, 2 days later I was put in the position that someone wronged me, God gave me the chance to forgive and I'm happy to say it was a little hard at first but the incident has been forgotten and forgiven

I need help with my situation. I am married to an unbeliever who constantly mistreats me and my children. Never apologizes and continues to do hurtful things. There are moments of kindness but he is typically motivated to do something nice because he wants something in return. What would forgiveness look like in my situation?
