►Replacing Porsche 911 997 tie rods is a must as the ball joints wear out over time and can bend easily when encountering large potholes or other road hazards. In the instance of this 997 in the video above, the car has around 65,000 miles on it, right at the lower end of the range of 60,000-100,000-miles that you typically replace these tie rods.
This DIY applies to any Porsche 996 911 or 997 911 across all of the years. The kit featured in this video contains inner tie rod ends, outer tie rod ends, and boots to fix any slop in your steering system.
Michael Hidalgo, FCP Euro's DIY guru, walks us through how to replace your Porsche 997 tie rods with only a small selection of basic hand tools at home in your garage.

I don't own a 911, but love watching your videos, Mike. In part, due to the chill nature of the explanation process.

@Lewis Levits Wow, Not that Mike needs any one to speak for him but, guess what???? At the end of the day, everything we drive(Although we consider ourselves enthusiasts) is nothing but Metal, Glass, Rubber, and an occasional Plastic piece. You however, are being a little disrespectful, and frankly racist. I understand this IS a free country and we are able to voice our opinions Left, Right, and somewhere in the Middle.

Also identical to 986/987… good job as usual, love the difference between a professional video and a back shade mechanic video where I am constantly saying .. no no no you don’t do that… while here all you see is perfection

Excellent guide! Some play in my inner tie rod was found during maintenance inspection. I was going to have the shop do it, but now I have the confidence to do it myself. Saved me about $400 in labor and earned FCP Euro a tie rod kit sale. Thank you!
