Porsche is one of the most iconic sports car brands - and the 911 is the car most people think of when you say Porsche. The first Porsche car, however, was not the 911 but the 356 which was prototyped in 1948. The Porsche 356 paved the way for the Porsche 901 (later 911) which was launched in 1963 with production starting in September 1964.
This is my very own 911 - a 1970 model year 911T Sportomatic F-model with 125 HP from the 2.2l 6-cylinder boxer engine - in my opinion one of the best sounding classic Porsche engines. And more than 50 years on, it is still a car which you could drive every day.
In this first video I share my experiences with the car and give a few tips which might be useful to those of you who consider buying a Porsche F-model.
In the second video, which will follow in a few weeks, I will visit Porsche in Zürich, one of the best Porsche dealers in Switzerland, specializing in high-quality Porsche oldtimers. I will have a chat about great cars, why you should buy from an expert dealer, what to buy and give some comments on the price development of these fine cars.
