Looks like a lot of work just to swap the interior carpets, but going to look epic

It really isn't that bad. A lot of it just pulls right up, and some things are held by screws.. It think it's a worthwhile project as the old carpentry gets shaggy after 37 years.

Nice! I was wondering what was going on with the 944. Mine had an ill-fated wiring fire due to a steering wheel issue, but I'm on the way to getting it back on the road (same year and colour as yours, but mine came with black leather ;p). Nice fabrication of the loft as well. My car is in a similar state with the dash removed. It's amazing how easy these things are to pull apart. Quick question, though, what car cover is that? Fits like a glove.

The 944 is easy to drive but I wouldn't recommend it as a first daily driver as there are some maintenance costs coming your way as time goes by! If you have the option to get one though, do it!
