Wow this is such a good idea. I have a hunting pop-up and I'm thinking I'll level some ground next to the house, lay down a few patio stones, then use my Korean propane stove to heat the lava stones. I'm unemployed & had to quit my gym that has a great steam bath, but this might be a good substitute. Thanks for the great ideas!

Some of the rocks around here explode when the water hits them. It's not always on the first use, either. I originally used shore rocks for our sauna and had to replace them.

Thank you! Any standard steel charcoal basket. I’m going to build a mini log cabin at my ranch and video the build. But that will be after my bow hunting trip for mule deer and javelina In Arizona which I’m filming next week. Check out my shed cabin video lots of good ideas in that one.

Jist use an electric wall paper stripper. 12 min heat up time and oodles of steam. Cheaper plus no propane to run out

You could probably use an instant pot with the top off as a steam generator, just adding water every 20 minutes to make sure it doesn't run dry.

Here in scandinavia they dont seem to sell those badass burners that do between 100-200k BTU. Is it even worth trying with 30k BTU do you think???

Well you could build a fire heat up the rocks in a steel bucket and use major oven mitts to move them into the tent.

No because you heat up the rocks OUTSIDE the tent. Then shut off propane and lift tent over rocks. So ZERO issues because outside.

Sean Scalisi all good man. It was a hastily shot video, wasn't planning to shoot it. That's why my hair is sticking up etc. But thanks, I have been looking into 2-4 person cedar barrel steam saunas for my ranch. The problem is the cheapest is $3000 an even if you built it on your own the wood and heater costs add up to not much less than that. So.....the tent is a good solution. But ultimately I am going to get a barrel sauna for my ranch because they are super cool....probably next year.

Just made one of these and the results were pretty terrible... The steam goes up and pretty much disappears after a few seconds, so the tent gets humid but never gets anywhere close to the temps you mentioned. Also, you said that yours lasts for 25+mins, but mine was dead closer to 10mins (i'd imagine it would have only lasted 5 mins if i wanted to generate a decent amount of steam and poured more water onto the rocks).

Hot air rises. Did you stuff a paper towel in the openings? Should be hot.
@NothingToDoCrew
@NothingToDoCrew Жыл бұрын
@@mediocreman5103 Yea, i put a paper towel in the openings (then duct taped over them), but like you can see in 4:23 of the video the steam just rises and permeates the tent. If the tent was made out of material that wasn't as breathable it might work. I MacGyver'd mine to work decently with a portabe space heater and 2 deep fryer steamers, but i think after things finally heat up i am going to put everything away and chalk this one up as a loss
