Portuguese 937A Mauser Rifle | Initial Inspection

Purchased a 937A K98 Portuguese Contract Mauser Rifle & Bayonet. As part of a sale they included 945 rds of Greek 8mm. Overall looks like its complete, in great condition, all matching, and a great bore. A similar video posted by ‪@The_Casual_Collector‬ should help those interested in 937As make a more informed decision.
Pros
-Overall Good condition
-Appears to be all matching minus the cleaning rod & bayonet
-Complete & Functional
-Looks like an excellent bore
-Came with bayonet and 945 rds
Cons
-Buttplate is a little rough

Vary nice rifle. I picked up one from Centerfire Systems a couple weeks ago. It was too in very good condition with all matching serial numbers. I did the dealers choice, a little skeptical of it, but I made the right decision. The Rifle is absolutely beautiful for his age. Thanks for the video

Very cool Mauser variant. Glad Portugal didn't deface the markings. Bonus looks like some well preserved ammo. Looks like a ton of that Greek stuff came in, I've seen it at a few places. Wish there was still some HXP Greek Garand and Enfield ammo in a warehouse somewhere. Great ammo and brass.

Thanks, not sure what these were used for over there, most likely drill and perhaps put away in storage before the the markings became an issue.

Way cool! 😎👍I have two kar98ks. However, neither one is a Portuguese contract, but I do have a bayonet from the 1937 Portuguese contract. Overall a great video.

Very nice video, and a good assessment as well. You do a very good job on your reviews. Your 937A overall has less rust than mine from Atlantic, but the buttplate does look more rough. I agree this was likely handled more than it was shot, but overall very nice, and a very good deal. I just got my 1904/39 today, hoping to do the video tomorrow on it. Strangely , with the 1904 combo I got charged $90 shipping...🤔...they might have figured out they were losing some on shipping lol. I also got a 1901 Carl Gustov Swedish Mauser from a gun store today, a very nice rifle. Anyway, keep up the good work, and thanks for the mention!

Looking forward to seeing what you got with the 1904/39. They are gorgeous rifles in my opinion with very smooth actions.
