Now that i have listened to your video, I realise that I have been learning Brazilian Portuguese on Duo Lingo. It's MASSIVELY DIFFERENT FROM EUROPEAN!! I am heartbroken to realise I have wasted a month learning the wrong pronunciations and vocabulary. I must now start over. However, I am super happy I found you. Such clear explanations and very logically laid out.

Hi, you didn't lose your time because it's the same language. Only some words are different and some letter combinations are read differently. That's the same language, two different variations. You can learn Brazilian and speak Brazilian in Portugal and vice versa. However, I would suggest you to focus on one version and stick to it just to avoid the confusion.

This is the big problem, Duo has Brazilian Portuguese, which is quite different in terms of pronunciation from the European one, and unfortunately, most of the learning materials out there focus on Brazilian Portuguese 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. I was literally learning Brazilian Portuguese 24/7 on Duolingo. But now, I don't even use that app, I listen and learn from Maria.

Honestly I'm so glad I found your channel, I've been wanting to study a third language for a long time (I'm Romanian) and I found Portuguese to be quite attractive, however all I could find was Brazilian Portuguese content, including Duolingo (which tbh got very repetitive and boring quite fast) so thanks for sharing these lessons, they're very useful. Most of your videos include phonetics and subtitles, which is different from other channels. Phonetics is the most important factor to determine a person’s listening skill. You are born to be a language teacher.

I am beginner and started only few months ago learning Portuguese because I dream to go on Caminho Portuguese next year. I know that I can use my English but I felt in love with Portuguese language. I try to use Duolingo and some audio tools tools to learn it but now, with your KZfaq lessons it is like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Something interesting is that as a Romanian native speaker I discover every day similitudes between the two Romanic languages, that go beyond their Latin roots. I have found that the one of the Roman legions that occupied the Dacia (Romanian people ancestor country) was the legion VII Gemina. This was formed and is originated from Lusitania. So it is an other incentive for me. I like very much your lessons as said. I am a semi retired person but I will support your channel as much as I can. All the best and good health .
