@@skeletor7144 The disarming humor comes from the fact the creepy deer's entire evil plan was to stick the candy people to stuff and then just lick them. And also, despite literally just being an extra creepy deer with wierd creepy hands, it somehow singlehandedly defeated the ENTIRE CANDY KINGDOM, including the Gumball Guardians, nigh all-powerful sorcerer Peppermint Butler, AND Hypercompetent Gadgeteer Genius Princess Bubblegum and reduced the kingdom to a post apocalyptic ruin and we NEVER FIND OUT HOW. I can't help but laugh trying to work out what chain of hilarious failures led to this outcome, one creepy deer with creepy hands and no other notable powers managing to steamroll an entire kingdom and three of the most capable and powerful characters in the show off screen with zero apparent effort, just because Finn wasn't there to stop it. In fact, even just how it managed to take Finn out, which we also never really get answers on, lends itself to the same 'how the hell did that even?' humor.

1:25 Now, it a lot of other shows, this scene would've ended with Finn somehow not seeing what happened, and then there would be at least like 3 more failed attempts, and maybe even a montage that makes Jake look even more creepy, before Jake himself starts to question what he sees, and then, only then, would Finn finally see what was going on. The fact that it didn't go that route is one of the many things I like about this show.

When I watched this when I was younger instead of being scared I felt bad for PB. I kind off avoided this episode because of that but CN would always air it.

Honestly this was the best bit of adventure time. Only hints at the mushroom war's origin, the lich's magic being just barely revealed to be radiation and pollution. Everything past this point feels like the series had ended but the studio wanted more episodes so they just kept going. Think of it: the lich was defeated, Ice King wasn't interested in bubblegum, and bubblegum was cute and finn-sized so they could be shipped in that sort of open ending these shows like to do.

But the ending made it clear the Lich wasn't defeated. Even before that, look at what the Lich could do. Destroying his physical form or any proxy wouldn't end him. Plus, The show would have been regarded with about as little praise as the Problem Solvers because the vast majority of characters remained shallow at this point.

honestly, i disagree a lot. I think things were juuust starting to find their indentities. We would never got like 90% of the series's most praised episodes if they stopped there lol. AT would be just another cool cartoon that ended up too soon at CN, getting some clips in 2022 and people would say ''oh, remember this its a shame it ended so soon''
