You are very thorough in your videos. You seem to make sure to explain each term and not jump into the next thing too quickly. When you mentioned how oxytocin is regulated on a positive feedback you made sure to explain what positive feedback was. I know some professors teach the same thing all the time and might just brush it off like anyone knows what they are talking about, but it's little things like that that can be extremely helpful--even if it is a simple concept like positive feedback. That way students don't have to spend much more time googling certain things they didn't understand.

In class you had explained what oxytocin was and when it is secreted, but here you helped give a more in-depth breakdown of other important functions it serves, crazy how many functions and responses it is responsible for

I really like the first review part of the video. Thanks for explaining oxytocin specifically. A lot useful information to know.

I really appreciate that you explain things as a refresher and do not just brush it off as most would thinking that we automatically know what is going on. It was great to hear some of the information over again and hear clinical correlations where this would apply. I also appreciate the fact that you incorporate humor in most of you videos, it makes them not only a great resource to refer to, but also very entertaining to watch.

BIOL327 Fall 2019: It was interesting learning and hearing a more in depth description of what's going on biologically to a woman's body when breastfeeding (milk ejection) and giving birth (uterine contraction) in comparison to what my midwife told me prior to and after giving birth to my son.
@marlysem.22214 жыл бұрын
I was really surprised by the number of functions oxytocin has to prepare the woman for childbirth and also how it functions as the love hormone. I always wondered why women were attached to I.Vs since some women also do home deliveries. However, it makes sense to have synthetic oxytocin going through the body in order to help stimulate contractions. Thank you!

This lecture explained very well how oxytocin is used in different instances in the body. It seems oxytocin is released more in women because it is released from the posterior pituitary during milk ejection and uterine contraction. The drawings helped me understand how the hormone is released from stimulation. BIOL 327 43445 Fall 2019

Since oxytocin mainly affects childbirth and nurturing a child, what is its role in males? Are there higher levels of oxytocin in women than men due to its function? Great video once again!

I thought the examples of how oxytocin is created was interesting and easy to understand. It's disappointing to learn how doctors give artificial oxytocin to women who are in labor when in fact they probably don't need it because our bodies produce it naturally.
