Yes! That is one reason the high-quality pot fillers have two valves. The second is a safety until such time as you fix the drip. These faucets, in residential use, rarely would get the multiple on/off use each day like a kitchen faucet. The internal parts can last for many years before they would wear causing a drip.

Well, I sort of have. I have one or two videos on soldering copper tubing/pipe. If you learn how to do that, you can get pipe to anyplace you want. Soldering the lug L threaded fitting needed for the pot filler nipple is the same as soldering on a regular 90.

Tim I think you do an awesome job of explaining things to us all. On this paticular "Pot-Filler" job I was wondering if you had put wooden supports not only to hold the brass dropped eared 90' but what exactly did those screws anchor to on the hidden retention ring? Did you install another stud behind the drywall? How bout' drilling thru tile did your drill happen to have "hammer-action"? Again I'm not being sarcastic I really like your work but these are just ?'s that I don't see answered.

Correct. Many Chinese restaurants have the gutter at the stove. You can see them rinse the woks just after they cook.

I have been searching for a demonstration on how to attach a wall mount sink faucet. The rough-in valve photos show a threaded female part. Since my plumbing is PEX, i wanted to understand how I would make the connection before ordering the valve. Our backsplash has a small issue, the tile around the pipe is very brittle. We cant screw in the first round plate. Can we only use the small alan screw to secure the faucet to the pipe and then add the decorative round piece?

Convenient, although it doesn't completely eliminate carrying the water-filled pot. You still have to schlep it back to the sink when you're done. Unless... I saw one such faucet in a restaurant kitchen. The cooktop had a gutter leading to a drain. Not for dumping huge volumes of water (not deep enough), but for quick rinsing of pots and pans.

Great ?s! No offense at all as you are most polite. There is solid 2x blocking behind the tile at that location. The lug ell fitting screwed to it and then I placed another block over that that had a hole drilled slightly larger than the diameter of the fitting. Never hammer drill tile. Never ever....... Just use a new regular bit. Once it cuts into the glaze, the rest is easy. Porcelain tile though is tougher. You often need diamond bits.

If you are in a big family that likes pasta it's very useful.

My guess is for drip safety. Remember, a drip at this location is death on a stick. No sink or drain below it. But the real answer lies with the engineers at Moen.

Didn't you say not to turn on the faucet for the first time with the aerator on (because it can clog - and I agrre) but then you put it back on and say "Let's see if it works." which implies it's the first time you turned it on. I know it wasn't but you seemed to contradict yourself. I really like your videos, thank you for making them. I'm only trying to offer helpful suggestions.
