The P90 actually has a custom made drop-in 3D-printed micro-switch trigger-unit from SRAirsoft and i love it

Hey fella I don't know how much you follow SRA I was looking into getting something from them too, however, they just started production of a new unit that uses the ETU++ that allows for binary and some other functions you should check it out if you haven't in pretty excited for the release

Very well said on the video man however let’s jump forward 10-20 years my assumption would be that contacts will be obsolete just like brushed motors will eventually be I think we’ll obsolete contacts and get trigger boards first before brushless takes over 99% of the market and here’s why there’s companies out there taking the chimera design and making it compatible for multiple boards one that currently exists is the Perun G&G ETU upgrade kit for any G&G getting an ETU such as the m14 you can throw the kit in and Jefftron is making a universal leviathan with many board options for various TM platforms so eventually having the option to refresh these old skills might not be an option 20 years from now 😂

I haven't thought of this. I've soldered together many MOSFETs, following Hunter's HULK design. Yet I haven't bothered for years, since the release of BTC and GATE products. Maybe my next AEG I'll keep the contacts and solder up a new FET. Although really, I'd like to see it a standard that AEGs come with a basic FET. Krytac is a great example.

Well, first off, I must say that I am impressed with everything you talked about in this video. With that said, I must also state that I just got in to airsoft about a month ago when a couple of the guys I work with and I had a conversation about how airsoft just may be an avenue to help us train CQB. I have watched several of your videos, even the ones back when you were still in high school and you have come a long way. I just purchased my first airsoft pistol and M4 about a month ago. I have already upgraded the barrel, hop up and fps spring thanks to what I have learned from watching your videos. Thanks for all you do for all of us out here in the airsoft world. Please keep doing what you're doing for it is much appreciated by us all.

The timing and over spin videos are much needed! I’m still struggling to figure out why my gun stops cycling after a few bbs and locks up every thing.

What is the set up on it mate that would help alot

Haven’t watched the video yet. But all I say before hand is when upgrading my gun I needed a lot of stuff I thought I didn’t need. Like barrel nuts. Anti reversal latch screws. The little things like that. Make sure you have everything before you take apart your gun to upgrade it lol

Gotta say this is very well said. Personally I’ve been teching for a couple years and I have installed 1 optical mosfet in that time period. Granted I didn’t do enough research and tried to put a Perun hybrid into a Spectre M4 which doesn’t have a selector plate, but it was a good learning experience. Since then I have never bought any optical mosfets, simply because I don’t think the price justifies it for me personally. I don’t have the money to spend 70+ dollars on 1 mosfet that people think should be in every single gun I own. I like the challenge of not running a fancy mosfet and since then the most fancy mosfet I have bought is a Perun AB++. I think techs need to branch out on platform as well as product. If you have worked only on M4s you aren’t an experienced tech in my opinion. You haven’t even tried to put on a V3 trigger for example. Not saying I’m a flawless tech, my knowledge doesn’t extend to version 6 or 7 gearboxes, I just think that the mindset of using the same product in the same gun all the time is going to set you up for failure. I think this way with gears and motors as well. In my experience it doesn’t apply as much with air seal components, unless you’re using the same cylinder in every build and messing up your volume as a result, but it still could apply to this as well. Long story short stop relying on the same product for every build, not just with mosfets but with most of your build. (Wow I’ve never written a KZfaq comment this long before😅)

The Begadi CORE EFCS(essentially a SEMI only ASCU Pro) actually exist for both P90s and M14s. It isn't sold separately from Funs though and as stated above is Semi only.

For the AS VAL/SR3 you can use the AUG mode for the trigger mosfets. It's a good compromise but of course messes with realism if you care about that. I personally just went with a GATE X-ASR and had great experience with it. Since the battery goes in the suppressor, it's not unheard of that the suppressor cuts the wire so a simple mosfet is a great protection for a possible short circuit.

I'd like to see a video solving the Gate Titan's occasional issue with not properly detecting the DSG cam resulting in a two round burst in semi. :) I think this directly relates to why troubleshooting a cut-off lever or the lack thereof is needed for newer techs like myself.
@KAG22032 жыл бұрын
I quite recently bought a PTS Magpull Masada and it didn't have a BTC ETU so I was pretty much stuck with this kind of solution, I went with the Perun AB++ and if you run precocking with a little stiffer spring - M120, there is really no problems with overspin and the gears/piston pretty much stops at the same position every time. At least in semi, and that is all I am using. It has an Ares solution micro switch trigger so the trigger feeling is quite ok to. As long as it shoots true old school triggers are fine by me.

@@noelboumans4216 the sensors on Levi are placed a bit further, but the main principle is the same. I'm in progress of re-buildign my EBB AKS74UN with Warhead brushless and Gate Aster. Waiting for the new gearset, which is a bit delayed now :(

Idk if I would go about it assuming all new AEG mechanics are incompetent. A conventional mechanical AEG system is not as complex as you make it out to be. As someone that has been doing this for almost 20 years, it’s pretty simple.

i only buy a mosfet when i cant fix my aeg semi ,those days was frustrating, like i bought 3 switch assembly and 2 cut off lever the semi still won't work so i decided to buy a perun v2 problem solve

I hear Perun is making a optical mosfet for the P90 soon.

Interesting topic, I agree and disagree. Our new tech struggled with timing issues, I had to do exactly this, jump in and show him since he learned on gates. It’s a luxury. When I say I disagree, obviously we love modern fets, it’s like saying carburettors are better on cars because we are nostalgic and like old cars. Eventually all airsoft guns will have electronic solutions, it’s simply better. It’s just a matter of time, probably years though. It’s the evolution of the electric airsoft gun. Interestingly we was working on psg1 v4 the other day, it’s a 26 year old gearbox that had mechanical pre cocking, rotary hop unit, active breaking and blowback feature. Just from a airsoft history perspective.. that was pretty impressive. Ingenious really. Obviously timing was achieved with battery and motor combo, it’s why so many guns have been killed by gun techs, I started with a fresh new gun to rule out customer created compatibility issues and worked my way through measuring parts and seeing what can be done, then I tried to see what the lowest cost build could be to achieve something reliable. But hit a brick wall with the timing issues with warhead motor and 11.1v. Suffice to say mechanical contacts are not cool and yes I agree I may have been able to figure out some timing solution but what’s needed is an ecu to set timing. We tried abb pico and warfet. Both still resulted in occasional double feeds with over spin. Again still not acceptable as a minimum build in my opinion not to mention I was now having to build this as the other tech well and truly tapped out. Which lead to the final build and granted as I type this I haven’t technically finished it so famous last words is my demo video on the channel but I’m currently fitting a jefftron leviathan into it and all initial testing pointed to picture perfect cycles. So we pulled out a quite ingenious system to swap it with an ecu because it was just such a head ache. Will I loose an ability.. probably given enough time, but Ecus are simply so much better. If you can fit one. On a side note, just from a business perspective there’s a substantial time difference between fitting a gate Titan and a pico or warfet with regards wiring, I’m really anal about measuring 5 times cut once, heat shrink to the nines. It’s worth pointing out your time is money, so if a customer says he has chosen a pico abb to save money, and then passed it all to you, that’s now simply costing you in time and not the customer and it’s not your job to save them money especially if you have a queue.

I prefer to Solder mosfets and use the traditional trigger contacts, at Least in my own guns. I dont see the advantage, its just more reliable imo(and cheaper)
