We've been impressed with these ever since they came on the market, and excited to say that we've seen guys who break 7 boards a month go down to none while riding Flight Decks, Check this review and some pretty crazy screenshots of people skating them.

Great boards. Wish Powell would spend as much time/effort on improving their graphics though.

Was using them for a long time but have now shifted to the Creature VX Russell and it is extremely similar and shape is insane! But really want to try the New AA shape soon. Perhaps there is a good video having all the Fiberglass boards and doing a comparison. The impact tech VS Fight Decks VS VX, I'd be stoked to see it!

For the price and the shape I love the Creature Russell VX (usually buy when on sale too). If the Flight decks weren't so much more expensive I think the Andy Heron 2 would be great but here in Europe the cost difference is just too much and his boards don't go on sale yet, so if you got all the money in the world or if you find a Flight you like on sale that Is a great option. Other than that VX is pretty damn close and cheaper.@@protestthisyouloser1093

They might not snap, but the razor twice as fast and splinter easily, if you do flips and hit the sides the fibers splinter out then the ply crumbles, The splinters get in your hand and you have to cut them out . Boards last me a a few months, my flight was done in three weeks.

I am firm believer in the Flight Decks. My review of the boards is one of my favorite projects. My board was 3 years old and sat in may garage in the extreme heat and cold of North Carolina for 3 summers before I pulled it back out a set it up again. I set it up for a ride and boom, great session. No warp no sogginess. The 8.25 243 shape is my favorite.

How's the weight on these compared to a regular deck?
@AdventuresInSkateboarding
@AdventuresInSkateboarding 10 ай бұрын
@@notprochris they are lighter for sure. If you are a tech skater you will notice it. But if your just a average skater not real noticeable unless you pair with with Mag truck and small wheels. You can make it to light in my opinion. I need a little heft to keep it under me.

I've tried the VX, the Flight Deck, and the Almost Uber Light deck. I'm a very light guy and I find these fiberglass boards to be too stiff. Especially when they're brand new, they don't flex and that actually makes popping the board harder since there's no spring created out of the energy that's releases after the board flexes and returns to it's normal shape. Sort of like if you had a bow that was too stiff making it challenging to draw the arrow back far enough to shoot it as far as possible. I'm no physicist but i think these decks are designed for heavier, stronger people in mind when it comes to popping tricks. Could be all in my head but I'm all about maple decks that have more natural flex to them to help create that trampoline effect

I like the almost impact decks. They also have a fiber/resin disc around truck mounts on the bottom ply. I have a double impact(discontinued 2015) 7-ply maple, fiber/resin top layer, and the discs around truck mounts on the bottom. I’ve had this board since 2012, I’ve noseslid through the bottom ply on both ends, and it’s still stiff and poppy. They stopped the double impact in favor of impact (8-ply maple, fiber resin discs on bottom) and impact light(7-ply maple, fiber/resin discs on bottom, fiber/resin insert on top layer, but not entire top layer) I’m 6’3, 235. These boards don’t break, don’t sog out, and aren’t much more expensive than regular boards. Best value high tech board. Also they feel like a wood board, just stiffer. Might not be to everyone’s liking, but if you’re big and break boards or hate overly flexy or soggy boards these are where it’s at.

these are my favorite boards! I made one last to a nub because i kept sanding the nose, tail, and sides for almost a year and a half....i break a new wood deck within a week or 2 depending on the weather and how im skating every day....make sure u know that the numbers mean something....the higher numbers are the wider boards! my favorite is the bizzpotter bee flight deck shape 243 its a size 8 wide and idc how long.

Currently have an 8.125 Almost impact support but i want to have that spring across the entire deck, would be cool if they made that in-between size a lot of 2000s riders still dig

Heres my concern with the flight decks. Years ago i cant remember who, but they made "unbreakable" boards. The issue is they were basically like spring boards when you landed. Juno down a huge gap and itd launch you. Or say the impact was too much and a normal board would break helping dissipate the landing? These would resonate back up into ur ankles/legs so you basically took all the impact. Many rolled ankles and injuries. Kinda showed where boards breaking isnt always bad. Maybe better for lower imoact skating idk. But i wonder how, if they did, get around that?
