This is a lithium replacement battery which is almost 3 times the correct voltage and will more than likely damage the clock permanently.

moking8095. He soldered a resistor in the circuit but never showed the value !!! But that would drop the voltage to 1.5 volts. It's much Easier to use a Rechargeable AA Battery.

I killed a clock with a lithium cell once. Pretty sure the maximum voltage is 3v. I guess if the clock mechanism is blown up then it no longer eats AA cells - problem solved lol

You can even use a weak battery as long as it does not leak. Any high powered battery like duracell etc even if it is 1.5 volts never use. It burns the foil track on clock movement PCB. Later it is difficult to form a connection track. I have observed on many of my clocks. I use very simple low power battery of conventional manufacturing. I patch up the created hole by aluminium foil!

1 - wrong battery. 2 - very poor soldering. 3 - a kid experimenting about electronics. 4 - polarity issue. This battery could burn your motor, which makes it a fire hazard 5 - out of 10 i give this a 2. Please learn about electronics, otherwise you may learn the hard way. Trust me, lithium batteries are extremely dangerous when you do not respect its properties.
