Lethal Scheme in The Mycotyrant Sound really cool. A nice way to use those “cant block”, creature tokens that are created at end step and just sits there for the turn cycle. So happy to its this low priced. I really thought Lethal Scheme was expensive

Some great picks! I recently specced on nature’s will and bought 29 of them for 93 cents each. Great budget bomb! Used to be as high as 32 bucks before the reprint in wilds of eldraine enchanting tales. I’ve been putting it in all my green creature decks and it’s been great. Like a mana doubler that pay for itself or even ramps you the turn it comes down if you can connect with an opponent. It also triggers multiple times if you can hit multiple opponents and you can use the mana in between the triggers for instants/flash spells or activated abilities. Also has the added benefit of tapping opponents down and is infinite combat steps with aggravated assault or hellkite charger.

Since Scampering Surveyor also fetches caves, it means it can fetch Echoing Deeps for land copy, Volatile Fault for land destruction, and any other cave you include. Great for blink decks where you can fetch both to basically steal any land you want.

Scampering Surveyor's ability to grab caves can be relevant too. In the deck I play it in I run a really fun toolbox with cards like volatile faul, echoing deeps, pit of offerings. I hope they print more caves in the future to make the lil dude have even more utility.

Speaking of basilisk collar if you care about death touch I would recommend Venom connoisseur! It has alliance so when a second creature enters on your side creatures you control gain death touch until end of turn

Scampering Surveyor IS a banger. I was waiting for ye to go through the caves it can get - there are lots! If you have mana to dump, you can get the discover caves. Or Pit of Offerings to remove your opponents' graveyard threats. Or Volatile Fault to destroy a problem land. Or Urza's Cave to fetch any land. With a cave suite in your landbase, this card is a modal beast.

Also giving thumbs up for this kind of content. Mia is a great host. Lovely voice to listen to. I'm glad both of you are mentioning for what those cards are good at. Since I'm newer player I would recommend putting pictures of cards that you are mentioning that goes well with the card you are talking about. It Would be so much easier to follow. For example when you were mentioning Pick your poison in context to get rid off Smothering Tithe would be nice that picture of a card popuped up for a moment. I guess I'm nitpicking 😆

I have Unctus in my Rona, Herald of Invasion deck. Rona’s ability turns in to “draw, discard, draw discard” and she gets untapped by Unctus. Throw in Teferi’s Ageless Insight and Unctus nets you two cards each time Rona is activated👌

I run Unctus in an improved Shorikai vehicles deck. He buffs the power of some pilots, of the vehicles obviously and I can easily filter my hand just by crewing

Unctus is vey good in any twiddle-storm deck, such as Alaundo. If you are tapping and untapping the same creature a lot, and that creature is blue, prepare to go insane.

just play burnished hart and sad robot and scampering surveyor and wayfarer's bauble, good land ramp in any non green deck, all work especially good in red/white with artifact recursion synergy.

Unctus was the commander in my mono blue artifacts. Now he is one of the 99 and Urza becomes the new one but Unctus still have great impact on games.

Lethal Scheme is a really underrated removal spell. I've cast it for free a bunch, and then I get to loot 4 times AND put counters on my creatures? Why do people hate this card?

How about this impossibly cristmas land interaction: you use cranial plating on a first strike creature that the opponent must block, and then instant speed switch it to an unblocked creature after first strike damage. Lol

Chromatic Lantern is perfectly acceptable in a 5 Color Deck. Being able to tap your fetches for any color helps tremendously

Scampering Surveyor has a potentially reusable ETB and gives you ramp that can't be interacted with or caught in a wipe later. I would pretty much recommend Chromatic Lantern 0% of the time but would play Scampering Surveyor in plenty of artifact-heavy decks or budget blink decks
