This is a stab vest, not a bullet vest. They sell those too but this vest doesn't do everything.

Most stab vests are NOT bulletproof...its is a different way that it absorbs the impact..however...most stab vests DO allow for a bullet proof plate to be inserted so that you get both stab and bulletproof qualities front and back.

Not bad, but it seems to me the vest is too short. People stabbing somebody seem to often go for the kidneys and do it in a low, raising arch, which is likely to land under the lower rim of this vest. I think there should be some sort of flap extension covering the kidney, upper hip and maybe groin area, to provide more comprehensive protection. Frankly, by not covering the most likely stabbed area, this is borderline useless. I have seen a bunch of stabbings in videos and not once have I seen someone doing the "classical" underhand coming from above thing. That is something movie psycho killers like Michael Myers and Jason Vorhees do, but nobody in the real world seems to do that. Every stabbing I saw was coming from below, going for the belly and kidney region. I think even if the vest is concealed and the stabber doesn't even know that he has to bypass it, he is very likely to do that just by default of how stabbings normally are done and never realize he "luckily" got past a stabbing proof vest. I think a "wide belt / cummerbund" made of this material that doesn't even bother covering the upper body but does a better job of covering the usually stabbed kidney area, would be more useful.

These are made for close protection officers who usually have Kevlar wader like trousers on which go to your waist so I think it would be a bit obselete
