In this video, we demonstrate a simple and cost-effective solution for powering your electronics out in the field, even in areas without access to power. Using old power tool batteries and DC to DC converters, we showcase how you can build a unit for less than 10 dollars to run your equipment from nearly any voltage.
Our step-by-step tutorial provides viewers with all the necessary information they need to create their own power source, allowing them to power their electronics wherever and whenever they need to. By repurposing old power tool batteries, viewers can reduce waste while also saving money.
This video is perfect for anyone who enjoys camping, hiking, or outdoor activities, as well as professionals who need to power their equipment while on the job. With our easy-to-follow guide and inexpensive materials, anyone can create a reliable power source to keep their devices running no matter where they are.

Yep, been doing this for about 3 years now with Ryobi. First one I made was a Ryobi flashlight with added dc converter to 12 volts and a lighter adapter with 2 usb ports. Second one i built was out of a single ryobi battery charger that puts out a full 18 volts with a 12 volt plug in. I use this one to run my 12 volt ebay portable car washer which does handle the 18 volts fine for the last 4 years. If it burns out, i will simply buy another one as the car washer is so cheap. Nice thing is when the power is out you are not. I always have 18 volt batteries ready to go. I even can run a 300 watt inverter for about 40 mins on a 6amp battery. 12 volt lunchbox cooker works fine too on 18 volts. Thank you for the videos.

A string of series 1N540x 3 amp Silicon diodes will each constant drop around 0.7v costing pennies !N5407 are sometimes Shockley diodes which have a lower drop.

Yes to can do with diodes but it's not regulated and you can't boost up the voltage either something I wanted to show because 12V lead acid battery sags

Yes in theory with the right DC to DC converter, the cells in these batteries are capable of many 100s of Watts in short bursts, any voltage under 50V is generally safe to touch with dry fingers, I wouldn't put my tongue across it though
