Took a chance purchasing this PowerWorks 60V Brushless Chainsaw and very satisfied with the result. Works fine however I realized I should of tighten the chain alittle more. I decided to go with this over makita, ryobi, snapper, dewalt, greenworks, craftsman, etc., just because of the price and the positive reviews on Amazon plus the 60v over the 40v. www.amazon.com/Powerworks-Bru...

wow. $150 ish? you did great. i'm one of those positive amazon reviewers i paid about $215 for mine. i 've used it to cut down 2 trees and today i was trimming brazillian peppers with it. get the weedwacker and the mowe r too. eta: haha i live in florida too. and don't deny you live in florida, i know florida vegetation when i see it. plus the fruit trees is a dead give away.

LOL yup central Florida, these plants are everywhere. I used to live in NJ the landscape was way more diverse. Oak trees are killing my fruit trees normal Florida stuff I guess. I bought it on a sale price it probably was around black Friday time. By no means its meant for industrial use or for a landscape business it just isn't built like that, however for maintaining a Florida size yard with these types of vegetation its perfect. If I was still living in NJ I would of got the same one cause it just simple as hell to use and I'm not out to impress anyone with what I got and what brand it is as long as it isn't complete cheap crap it has to perform as expected. Its going to be a year I used it over 20 times and never had an issue yet. I love it. No doubt I'm getting the rest of their line-up at least my wife can help out now and not complain "Honey I don't know how that machine works" etc etc. now it will just say "Press the Power button and then the other button" '

@@Matucks My father owned a lawn service in Cape Coral from 1980 to 1999. I hate gas powered lawn equipment with the passionate heat of a thousand suns. its always a pain in the ass. with these electrics thats gone. the 16 inch weed wacker is on sale right now for $185 with the battery and charger on amazon. only thing i ran into with the weed wacker is the line it comes with sucks. i respooled it and its GTG.I could have gotten a husky or an echo for what i paid but the powerworks saw is so fricken simple and hassle free.

I love the outdoors, btw if you ever consider this chainsaw I would recommend it from my experience. Nearly a year of use probably 20 times not one day of problems and the original chain is still sharp.

I had to replace the battery about 2-3 months ago, it was still under warranty, I think they are using better cells now cause since they sent the new battery it overall works better than it did

i saw an 80v /18in version at menards however it was almost $300 which compared to other brands of equal stats seemed ok. From ur vid it seems fast and has plenty of bite. Why the $150 difference for 2" of blade and 20V more seems odd.

Could simply be branding I assume. I got this at a sale price at the time and today its still running just as day one and I used say over 20 times since this video. Its a cheap brand but its build is pretty sturdy. Hey in the end all I need is the extra limbs here and there out the way. I'm still using the original chain and its pretty sharp still and 60V was enough power to cut oak. I like it for the price and it does what I need it do, if I was more into cutting wood and looking for professional grade I would just get a STHIL for the reliability and quality. I was born in Guyana and in the Amazon they have trees that bullets cant penetrate and those STHIL chainsaws rips through like butter.

Thanks for video, but man you should first loose the two big nuts and then screw the middle screw for adjusting the chain and after that fasten the big nuts otherwise it doesn't work, your chain is too loose right now.

Hi is there a youtube video that shows how to assemble the powerworks PD60CS40 chainsaw? Mine came in a box where the blade plus chain are not assembled on the machine.
@Matucks
@Matucks 3 жыл бұрын
It should of came with a tool, mines had a tool with a socket side and a flat head screw driver side, there are two nuts that you need to remove to get that cover off, then the chain goes around that gear thing and around the long part, just pair it all up an and adjust the screw to get the tension right so it don't keep slipping off, carefully put the cover back on tighten the nuts and see if you need to adjust it more, hope that helps, not much can go wrong just put it all back in place and tighten up, hope that helps

I thought you knew what you were doing untill you started loosening that chain! Wonder it did not come off! And what's with you cutting into all that dirt man? Chain will soon be very dull.
@Matucks

This is actually my first time owning a chainsaw. I barely used one before so I'm a bit new at it. The chain did slip off a few times and one of the issues is that when the cover plate is on over the chain the adjustment for the tension does not turn all the way. I have to loosen the two nuts to adjust it properly. Its not a major issue and can easily be adjusted. After owning it for a few months now I'm glad to say its still working strong battery still holds good charge and the chain is sharp still.
@mikehoward8201
@mikehoward8201 4 жыл бұрын
No problem. I began to realize you were inexperienced with chainsaws in general. What you thought was too tight from the factory was actually about right on the chain tension....it came off because you had adjusted it too loose. Glad you did not get hurt! Good to hear it is still working well for you. This saw is relatively new so your video is one of the few on You Tube showing it in use. I purchased one last week and am waiting for it to arrive. Yes, this saw does not have the easy chain tensioner, but like most gasoline saws it has the two nuts to loosen and the screw adjustment to tighten. This saw has an Oregon chain and chain guide on it. To me an important selling point because you can get replacements at most places that sell chainsaws! Thanks for cutting a variety of wood with it!

@@mikehoward8201 Well its close to year since I owned it and if you purchased on I hope its still working cause mines is still going strong. The battery still holds the charge for the same period of time since day one. I used it over 20 times this year and not a single issue. Yes replacement parts are easy for it that's why I got it because they actually built this with some quality parts and one of the reasons I purchased it. Over the year I got better handling this thing it was a true learning experience almost rip my leg off a few times but I'm still here.
