Majority of body armour is just for the upper thorax to protect the vital organs. Yes most will probably be around the navel but consider what you have to do in body armour. I wear a vest and need full mobility in my work. It's protect vs functionality.

@@PPSSGroup After all these are all pretty much "instant kills" at the very least your target is going to sit down in shock and confusion and die a slow death. Anyone half decent with a knife will hit 2-3 of these locations in a couple of seconds.

Slash - maybe. Stab - if it does, in my opinion only to a limited extent. There are always some trade-offs. I would like to see something similar, but in form of a stab and slash-resistant jacket/coat with a funnel neck.

While they will do all this, and more: those plates just keep getting heavier and heavier as the day goes on.
