One simple game that can be played with kids on most Prague streets: Walk only on black / white tiles. You can even switch the "safe" color at unexpected moments.

If you go to the Petřín hill with kids, make sure to stop by the Štefánikova hvězdárna! Very cool space exhibition, very suitable for kids, you can look at the Sun or stars through a massive telescope!

We went up to Petrin tower just yesterday (was exceptionally hot day!) and our little one went on the merry go round (as did I!). Price of 70kC absolutely acceptable and was enjoyable. :)

We were (again) in Prague a week ago and one of our "must visits" is the Stefanik Observatory on Petrin. Just go to the top of the hill by funicular and go left, instead of right to the Petrin tower. Only a few meters and you can visit the observatory - at day to see the sun or by night to watch planets, stars or the moon in one of the two telescopes. And ever touched a real meteorit? Just amazing, and of course the exhibition is in english, too.

Ah, happy to see you recommend the NaFilm. I went there my last visit in Prague (on your earlier recommendation) and it was sooooo much fun! For everyone, 'cause it's interactive and the (then?) students are just great and deserve the best. ❤️❤️

In Australia, that particular kind of liquorice is called "liquorice all-sorts". The "ice" at the end of liquorice is pronounced as an "ish" sound . 😊

Always buy a transport full day ticket. That is something I learned when I visited. Could save your knees some pain haha

Don't forget the Prague Zoo, just a little way out from city center. It's seriously good. Lions, elephants, bears, gorillas, you name it, they got it.

Sadly, the iconic PEDRO shop is closed, but you can get some of the candies in big supermarket (we get them from Tesco). The fountain in that garden nearby was also broken, no water running.

I actually never was like really wanting to visit Prague since it's quite a long drive vom Vienna, but after seeing a few of your videos, now I do really want. I have also seen a lot of things that were unknown to me so I need to see them in real now. Thanks for the well edited videos and also for your enthusiasm. i went to prague 2 years ago thanks to yanek. we really loved all those places. the kids also loved the other cablecar (to the hotel) and we rented a boat on the river. also riding the tram was a ton of fun for the kids.

Hi Janek, Thank you for your wonderful videos on the city of Prague. i looked most of your videos and in last week of september , visited most of the places you mentioned. The children island for my daughter was very good, funicular train , gemüse-corner-kebab, astronomical clock, GRAND CAFE ORIENT ( got a stamp in my book), Kavárna Adria. We also had visited Ovocný Světozor (Hájek&Boušová), the sweet shop had closed temproraily , dont know why . Jidelna was also closed. we enjoyed the ice creams and alcohol cake. We walked behind for the garden and i showed how to splash the water far away by holding it for few seconds to my daughter as you did. Also we did goto the children playground end of charles bridge, but within few minutes a guard came with keys at 7pm to lock the gates. I love the city. Thanks to you and Honza for guiding around the city and doing the best videos of Prague and other nearby cities. I still keep watching new videos coming every sunday.

Thank you for making this. When traveling with young children it's often hard to find the "secret spots".

Žofín has a decent playground and a small train kids can ride. I'd also recommend the Museum of Public Transport near the castle.

Also the view riding down that funicular is awesome of Charles bridge. Tram stop right by there is ujezd. Also there’s a bit of “construction work” on some tram lines that may not be on apps like Pubtran. Just a heads up for all!

Hi! (I met you and your dad in Yad Vashem in Jerusalem a few years ago.. I am a museum guide there) My kids, who are grown now, loved the zoo, and the technical museum in letna. They also loved the fair in HOlesvice exhibition grounds.

I know it’s touristy but we took our kids to the Illusions Museum across from the clock tower. They really liked it, plus we got to watch the clock dance from up above across the street. Nice view. They loved the tower views too. I think they really enjoyed it all.

I remember when I was 3 I spent about an hour & a half looking for the north end of Children's Island. It was the only playground that my parents took me to because I had a tendency to wander off & most Czech playgrounds are unfenced.

Funny video, but these activities are mostly for a small kids. I'd add a Zoo, a water park and a few museums (Still Figures, Senses, Czech RepubRICK, National Technical Museum, etc.) as recommendations for grown ups.

We need honest guide type videos for other cities in Europe as well, there are so many tourist traps all over the continent that somebody who doesn’t know what they’re doing could easily waste a ton on stuff that’s heavily marked up.
