Preacher Lawson was born in Portland, OR, but spent most of his adolescence in Memphis, TN. He moved 20 times before the age of 10, but if you asked him what city he's from he'd say Orlando, FL, because that's where he grew as a comedian. Lawson is best known for his appearance on season 12 of NBC’s hit series, AMERICA’S GOT TALENT (2017) where he made it to the final round. Based off his stellar performance in season 12, Lawson was invited to compete on AMERICA'S GOT TALENT: THE CHAMPIONS (2019) and BRITAN’S GOT TALENT: THE CHAMPIONS (2019) where he advanced to the finale after receiving the most fan votes. Most recently he was handpicked by Howie Mandell to participate in AMERICA’S GOT TALENT: FANTASY LEAGUE (2024). Lawson shot his first stand-up special, GET TO KNOW ME, which premiered on BET+ in 2019, then Amazon. His most recent special MY NAME IS PREACHER is set to be released globally on KZfaq on March 14th 2024.
In Television, Lawson can be seen on HBO’s A BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW, I THINK YOU SHOULD LEAVE with TIM ROBINSON, TOURNAMENT OF LAUGHS on TBS, as well as NBC’s CONNECTING as a series regular. He also hosted the Facebook Watch series WORLD’S MOST AMAZING DOGS (2019) with George Lopez and Lisa Vanderpump. He can be seen on THE TONIGHT SHOW talking about his fame recognition and MMA fight.
Lawson has built a massive following on TikTok of 3.4 Million followers. His KZfaq channel has amassed over 640,000 subscribers and features clips of stand-up, MMA training, and even Vegan cooking tips! He recently completed his residency hosting AGT Live in Las Vegas and continues to perform at sold-out venues around the world.

My brother passed away in 2019 and he was the funny one in the family. After he died it felt painful laughing but when I came across Preacher on AGT I couldn't help but to laugh, he reminds me SO much of my brother. His energy and his humor. Not many people can make me belly laugh especially after my brother's passing. But Preacher is one one of them. Thank you Preacher for gifting me with laughter again ❤️🩹

First of all, as a brown male vegan who loves his mother I'm so proud to see a black male vegan comedian who loves his mother. Second of all, I watch a lot of standup comedy and I think Preacher is an excellent "sentence-level writer" - his writing and delivery of individual jokes was excellent and made me laugh out loud several times. Now he just needs to work on stringing those jokes together to form longer narrative arcs; I thought he jumped from topic to topic a little too often or without good transitions. Looking forward to the next special Preacher! ❤️

I was crying laughing between the time the lady went to the bathroom and she came back. Any time I get that much laughter during a show I consider it a success! I mean the rest was hilarious, too...but that spot during the woman's bathroom break (all the jokes he made AND telling the crowd to cheer for her) had me going pretty good. I like this dude. Hope to see more of him over the years.

I work security at a comedy club in fort Wayne Indiana and he toured this hour last year working on it and crafting it and it's awesome to see it come to light on KZfaq he is one of the nicest comedians that has been to our club his mom opened for him and she was hilarious also they stayed after the show and talk to the staff for a long time Mama Lawson even tipped me an extra 40 bucks for keeping her safe!!

The dialogue you create in these stand ups fam. It’s like having a conversation with you no matter where you’re at in the crowd and I can speak for us online watchers that we feel engaged the whole time. This made my day, Preacher is one of my top favorite comedians. I've been a huge fan of his since that Muppet using kid stole his well deserved victory on America's got talent. This was hilarious like always and I have to remember not to be drinking anything when I am listening to him. Spit out some water twice during this hour special. Also great to see a comedian smart enough to be this funny without having to resort to swearing. Class act.

You’ve always this talented keep going the special things like this truly separate you from others. My only critique is that we need more stories like la story where you slept on the air mattress and that girl kicked you out. It’s not so much funny that is so very relatable. We need more series about where you lived and what you experienced like a la part 2.
