I had the 16hp duromax on a go devil crawfish model, moved my 14 footer real nice. Also had a beavertail predator that REALLY moved out!!!!

Nice! Older vid, but I've got a question. How did the 13hp do on the 12' boat in terms of stability? My brother has a 14' boat with a 6.5hp on it, and it's the slow boat to China! I have a 12' boat, and I'd like to hang a Predator 420 on it, I've just been unsure about how it would do with that much weight all the way in the back... Thanks for the video, and Stay Safe!

So with you an your buddy on a 12 ft boat an that’s motor it wasn’t sketchy as in the rear end being super low? I have 12ft flat bottom it’s 32” bottom an I just ordered the kit but I’m debating on getting that 13hp motor because I’m afraid it’s going to be super heavy I weigh about 170 am seeing you an your buddy on that little boat with a heavy motor just gave me confidence hahah great video guy!

How’d you deal with the weight in the back? I’ve got a 12ft with a 420 on the back and If it’s just me, I move to the back to flip the motor around after launching it and I take on water

Its heavy..so what your saying is you drive the boat backwards?..I can tell you this..who ever is driving is usually beat by the end of the ride..thx for watching friend

How do you keep the back of the boat from sitting too low in the water? It’s a very heavy motor for such a small boat. Have you ever run it alone?

did you have to beef up the transom, Any idea what the kit weighs? I know the motor is around 75 lbs

Transom has a piece of 5/8 plywood to beef it up..and that long ass tail is heavy..I'd say at least 50 60lbs..thx for watching friend

The only problem we keep having is the clutch not releasing at idle. ..still manageable...yes I recommend..good set up...thx for watching

The set is about 200 for the shaft and engine mount...maybe a little more..Predator 212 100 bucks..and a 212 will push just fine

Wow that’s super cool.that 420 is fast in and out the water.try to put a steering wheel in the front of it and make it work with wheels and metal wire.you can also put a gas pedal in the front

I’m looking to do something like this on my jon boat I have a 12x36 boat I’m debating on doing a 13hp are a 6.5hp I really want to do a 13hp but idk if it will be to heavy with 2 people in the boat the max limit is 455lbs

13hp will do fine but it is very heavy..if you dont have to go through alot of weeds a 212cc would work fine..that 420 will wear you out it's so heavy

Yeah the parts for the predator 420 are EXPENSIVE! I wanted to build a stage 2 420 for a go kart and I looked at the price of the motor and all the junk I needed to go with it and good lord it was about 1200. I wanted it for all that torque cause even at high rpm they have really good torque
