Predicting the Best Ambient Temperatures for Maximum Grip from the A052 Tyres All the Track Day Long

I took a deep dive into my collection of A052 tyre temperature data to try to work out what the best maximum daytime ambient temperature range was, to keep the tyre temperatures in their happy place for maximum grip all day long. I got the answer for my Z27AG Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, and just need more tyre temperature data now so I can do it at the other tracks I drive at.
In the video I talk about average tyre temperatures. That would be the average of outer + middle + inner temperatures over all hot sessions.

Love the analysis. If you mention ambient temperature, would it make more sense to use track surface temperature ? Secondly, what device do you use to measure tire temps, I notice inner, center and outer side of the pattern will also make a huge difference. I am using a temp sensor that pushes into the rubber to have less effect of any cool down by rolling into the pitlane and standing still (a nearby exhaust could warm ip the surface). Also big impact by tire pressure and geometry/alignment

Measure track surface temps would make more sense, I just have not done it to date. However using ambient temperature means I can use the forecast to decide if I want to book the track day or not - can't do track temperatures till I am actually there. I use a probe pyrometer (as per the video) which measures about 5mm into the rubber. And while geometry obviously affects outer / middle / inner temps, using the average of the three makes geometry less important. Geometry does significantly affect peak temperature though which is why I recorded that too.
