Went to see if fortuity Dr when I was 47 was told them that I needed to lose weight need to get healthy still had a good percentage fast forward. Some death in my family my sister and father passed was turning 4849 almost was told yet again need to lose more weight so I did what's 130 lb last year and January had my first round of IVF and it failed now I am 50 and we are on hold because of Corona still in having my. Was never diagnosed with PCOS or anything remark for any of this reason I still don't understand why I'm not conceiving naturally having periods normally as I've always had my whole entire life still ovulating but still not getting pregnant naturally what more can I do I am on all these supplements my husband take supplements we've been married now for almost three years the whole three years we have been trying to conceive

I stumbled upon this after becoming pregnant easily at 41 after 2 months of trying!! I was diagnosed with PCOS in my 20s- and struggled for years with little help from the medical community. At 30 I decided meds and chemicals were not helping and sought alternative help, diet modification and stress management.. yoga & prayer! What this doc is saying is true in my experience- get the PCOS under control so your body can work it's magic on its own. The biggest thing for me: I stopped identifying with my diagnosis- I decided it was temporary.

I'm trying to boost my fertility now as I decide what to do since I am single. Acai berry is super helpful for women over 40, you could try adding that. I would go for IVF ASAP rather than waiting for a man to come along. You can get donor sperm and have a child now, you can still meet the love of your life later on.

Don’t you worry at all. Just keep looking for the right guy, a Dad material. You don’t want to be just pregnant but have a real Man who will be there for you. Someone genuine, protective, patient, with similar life goals and lifestyles. Don’t waste your time on emotionally immature boys, players, guys who live too far to get to know them. Real love is patient, caring and kind. It’s based on friendship. Passion alone is never enough. Date smart. I met my second husband at 38. We had 3 kids after 40. Naturally too. You have enough time. The one thing that Donna said that I really liked was that Sr. Skylar read her test results and explained them to her so she would understand completely and that Dr. Skylar did it for free. Having a doctor that is patient and kind and believes in you really makes a difference. ❤️

I also have PCOS and got pregnant naturally after 12 years of trying at 31 with a 19 month old and also currently 22 weeks pregnant again naturally now, even without having a period. I have giving up ever becoming a mother and decided to just be the happiest and healthiest I can be. I went on a keto diet and start working out regularly, lost 60 lbs and bam bam bam 🤰 ! Good luck everyone! I know how how stressful/depressing this journey can be. FYI-I started my period at 11 years old, was never regular, even at a healthy weight. And as I got older and gained more weight, it got worse, I probably have like 1 period every 2-3 months, than it was like 1-3 a year, than 0-1 for years! Till I went on keto diet, and lost 60 lbs started at 190 and went down to 130 but just after 40 lbs lost, I have a period every 28-30 days without no cramps!!!! It was beautiful! Than I got pregnant.

On top of all the other issues I had (hypothyroidism, prolactinoma, polyp) my new Dr. found out that stress was impacting my ovulation! My estradiol levels would plummet when I would have stress at work. So I started taking on less tasks at work and delegating. My stress levels went down and my estradiol levels went back up. Fingers crossed. Too many Dr.s give up on women because they are not doing the research to rule out things. Thank you for posting this and not giving up on women.

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your wisdom here. It helped me understand what tests to ask for, how to stand up for myself within the medical community, and to believe in myself. With a AMH level of 0.036, and of advanced maternal age (44), we conceived naturally and are expecting in September 2022. @@A_Fruitful_Woman I ran the blood work recommended here with my GP. The fertility office wouldn’t run anything more than hormonal panels. I was low on vitamin B, so got some good methylated ones. That helped tremendously. Bone broth. A fertility cleanse by natural fertility and found an outstanding acupuncturist! Granted, I didn’t have any underlying issues. 28 day cycle, no PCOS, or Endometriosis. I wish you good luck.

The biggest thing I got from this video is the reminder to be proactive before it becomes an issue UK NHS doctors have often dismissed my requests for referrals and further investigation. I've never seen my bloods. I'm not trying to get pregnant right now so it's not an issue to them. I've managed to lessen/remove 90% of my symptoms on my own (case of having to) and those that remain have been classed as 'normal'. When did 'unhealthy' become 'good enough'. It's the 'don't make a fuss' mindset.

When I asked for a referral to a rheumatologist for a suspected structural issue, support for which has been offered by physios and osteopaths, (so not just a diagnosis from Dr Google) my doctor said, 'Why do you want to he diagnosed for something for which there is no cure?' They refused to refer me. That mindset seems to sum up a recurring problem I've come up against. If there isn't a pill or a prescription for it there's not much point looking at it. If a person only has a hammer they tend to only look for nails. Thanks also to Dr Marc. I wish more doctors were equally willing to broaden their toolkits.

Dear Dr.i was 44 last year and was pregnant.It wasn't planned .it just happened miraculously.I had a normal ,healthy pregnancy and have no chronic illnesses.The day I gave birth which was the 3rd of January 2023,the baby suffered from fatal distress.He only lived a week and died.I feel really empty,confused and heartsore because even tho I didn't plan it,I welcomed it and prepared the nursery it was quite expensive.Now I turned 45,and feel I want to try again .What if that was my last chance of getting pregnant again.I don't know if I should try but really feel I want to.What is your opinion on this?

I’m so sorry you lost your baby. If you could get successfully pregnant a year ago, and are still having periods, I feel very strongly you can do it again. With God, anything is possible.

For me... She didn't listen to Dr.s if the info didn't feel right. Instinct is highly underused and underrated. Also, she did it her way and believed in herself and her own body. I turned 43 yesterday. I had my son at 38 but am in a different relationship & now wanting and trying naturally for another. I just found this channel. Im loving it. Just to update your Dr. Sklar, one clinic told me my ovaries were "tired" after they forgot to give me meds to prevent ovulation before an IVF cycle. During that cycle I had a lead follicle that turned into a cyst and no eggs were found. Then this month my new Dr. found THREE follicles producing eggs at the same time without me being on IVF meds! I am now on DHEA and other vitamins for mitochondria and all the vitamins from It Starts With the Egg including maca and bromelin. My embryologist said recently my eggs looked perfect and 10 years younger. We now just need one to stick. I reduced sugar and reduced gluten and eat a Med Diet. I am hoping with persistence I can get pregnant.

Hi again Dr. Sklar! I'm 47 & have fibroids with very low AMH & high FSH. I'm currently reducing my fibroids naturally, which seems to be working due to the most regular period I've had in over a year & a half. I would love to work with you & your team, but money is an issue right now. I know going it on my own might take longer, but I believe that I can reduce my fibroids & all the crap that comes with them, while avoiding the diagnosis my doctors gave me of my only option to rid me of them is hysterectomy🤬 & hopefully one day soon, be able to work with you & your team. We been trying for 3 years now i had my 2 rounds of ivf but all failed.. first one i had miscarriage second try it was negative and i am emotionaly and physically drained but still hoping to get pregnant soon..😢 as per my doctor everything with me is normal but now as im getting older im worried my egg also will not be as healthy.. my husband has a low sperm count that’s why it is very hard to conceive naturally.. we are planning to try again our 3rd round just resting my mind and body once im ready will try again. Greetings to everyone! I am 46 and still believe that I will have a baby. I have three wonderful children and I want to have one more baby. Just two weeks ago I did 2 IVF. I had 23 eggs, then I had 16, but after fertilizing on day 6 all my embryos stoped the process. I was pregnant naturally as well, but I had to make cleaning because the baby didn’t developed. My doctor advised me to use the donor egg. It’s not the case for me. I want mine. What else I can do?

Thank you for this. I conceived my daughter at the age of 36 naturally after 8 months of actively trying. I've been trying to conceive baby # 2 now that I'm 39 (40 in 4 months) for the past 8-9 months as well with no success (at least not yet). All of this gives me hope that it is still entirely possible.

My grandmother had her fourth child at 45 years old naturally. So it is definitely possible. Every woman is different. But it is probably easier to get pregnant later in life if it is not the first baby.

What has really stuck with me is that she paced everything according to her timing - Especially that she waited to have the transfer! Im going down this route soon and Drs are advicing me to do a fresh transfer, but something tells me Id benefit from giving my body a break and have it done at a later date, despite what everyone says. I´ll be turning a "tender 45" in Dec :)

My cycle tended to be a bit on the long side and sort of weak, though still mostly in the normal range, and shortened and also has become stronger since I want to have a baby. Funny phenomenon... thyroid didn't change or anything... just my thinking. I know others don't experience that, sadly, but I wish everyone with cycle issues that they find their "cure", too. Earlier I hated the period because it gives me bad PMS but know I welcome every new opportunity for a baby with gratefulness 🙏 seeing how others wish they had it every 4 weeks.

I'm sorry to hear this. I don't believe in rushing into starting a family due to anxiety about it "getting too late". Things generally have to be done differently for your health + fertility to conceive once you go beyond late your 30s, but it's different for everyone. Being informed about your health and fertility even when you're not trying conceive is also super important and can not only make a huge difference when the time is right for you to start trying, but it's also great for knowing how to improve your general health + wellbeing.
