Blimey, things have changed since I went away on my Guzzi Le Mans. Swagman throwovers, tent and sleeping bag on top in a bin liner. Small magnetic tank bag with a Michelin map in the clear part. And bagful of different currencies. Enjoy your ride and I look forward to the videos.

@splodge5714 Erm.... I was thinking much the same... I still use throwovers, (I can get them routed under the seat so they look 'proper') a magnetic tank bag and my overnight bag is a 2.99 Kayak Dry Bag strapped to the rear seat. My Michelin map is still in the clear part of the tank bag, I do have a secondhand (car) satnav that I use mainly to find the B&B...or a petrol station if needs be. 🙂 More Kayak type dry bags in the throwovers. Total cost of luggage around £150 ...satnav...£70 (It was top of the range Garmin back in the day and has all of Western Europe on ...now...) Traffic avoidance, speed cameras, lane assist and all that shizzle 🙂 Mostly useless, best bit is the lane assist IMO... Ride safe.

Some great recommendations. One thing I saw somewhere was 'keep your passport as close to your skin as possible' My wallet and passport is on me, not in the tank bag (aside from Toll fees etc) I'd also recommend colour copies of your Passport and Drivers Licence. Green Card is supplied free by most insurance companies (provided you are covered) I'd also advise telling your bank where you're going if you are going to be using your Debit / Credit cards while you're away or you may well find they 'block' your cards.

Lay all the clothes etc out that you would like to take and Half it and double your money "simples" works every time. Oh and I use two methods of directions Sat nav on front and Sat nag on rear, Cheers Robert & Carolyn.🤣🤣

Similar setup to me but I’m moving to SW Motech soft panniers as I hate the weight and size of hard panniers, I’m also a big solo explorer, hate touring in groups. I have the same top box for my bike too for overnight and valuables kit, over the years my packing has drastically reduced. Like you say buy stuff if needed👍

@WheelieGoodTV Actually, you probably don't. Your 'list' may not be the same as Nicks. I'd suggest do a long weekend in the UK....I did Anglesey...by the time you get home you'll have a much better idea of what works for you and what doesn't.

Something you might need for your trip is an international driving permit depending on the countries you are travelling through, me and some friends are off to Belgium this year via France and it’s not required there but it’s worthwhile checking as it goes live on 1st April

I too wear the Klim A1 Rally vest, mainly because the stretchy mesh material makes it comfortable to wear, more than the other brands I tried on. It works well in hot weather worn over my LD Comfort base layer and under my Klim Marrakesh jacket. One difference for me is that this gear works on my fully fared road touring bike (more common here in the States). Not sure how it would do on a bike like yours.

Nice kit Nick, enjoyed watching, the only thing I'd say is don't sweat over the green card, I found it very expensive to doing that in the uk, maybe that was just my inept organisation, but organising local insurance at the albania, turkey border wasn't difficult at all and cheap despite scare stories you might hear, and even added a bit to the feeling of adventure. amazing journey..very jealous

Nice overview. Just curious if you have tried on the hydration pack while wearing the airbag vest. I am definitely getting the airbag vest next weekend, but I am not sure if I want to wear a hydration pack over that and my jacket , a KLIM Latitude (pants as well) which I really like as I just found the popular Badlands and Carlsbad too heavy for my needs. Also, a question from an earlier video... I could have sworn you said you switched back to the stock wind screen (from the Puig) and "more on that later" but I never found where you explained why... or did I misunderstand or miss something (as has been known to happen now and then)? Looking forward to videos your from the road!

Hi So on the rucksack it is loose enough in case airbag goes off and as I don’t wear the waste strap on Kriega rucksack’s it just raises up if airbag goes off so no issues there. On the puig screen yes two reasons, 1) the screen scratches easily and stone chips, while it’s great at reducing the air, if on a hot trip that is bad too. 2) I just like the look of the stock screen better and to be honest it does a good job
