I understand that some productions have an Executive Producer that is an EP in name only. You know the type: never show up, contribute nothing but claim credit if the movie is a box office hit, etc. If your production has room in it for an EP in name only, I gladly nominate myself for that position.

That was great! I like generating characters and story idea's and I tend to be very chaotic and all over the place when coming up with a story or a character and it's good to see I'm not alone in that chaos! Your Archer companion, now turned reluctant Ranger, probably is a companion with 50 PP's or so.....and she would definitely have a some extra abilities! Very much enjoying this.

If you are open to ties to the game's narrative, the very first scenario has the rangers searching for a missing ranger named Aventine. He was kind of a big deal in Alladore. (*Spoiler* he was killed by the forces of the Shadow Deep). This happened very early in the aftermath of the invasion of Lorenthia. Your main character may have accompanied him when he was ambushed in the village from scenario 1: The deserted village. It is just a suggestion but it would fix your character to a landmark from the main story. The idea of a corrupted druid does sort of fit in with the game. There are plant monsters called Darkroots and the goal of the Ghost Stone expansion is to destroy a giant stone that the mages of the Shadow Deep use to summon supernatural forces into this world. The stone is described as having runes carved into it. So it may have been a natural thing that had been changed and corrupted by evil for their evil purposes. The Shadow Deep does have a corrupting influence. If a magic using ranger uses spells from the Shadow Deep they have to make a saving throw at the end of the scenario; and if they fail they lose a point of will

Great work! Especially the part about characters being eaten by dragons. What do you mean that's not in there? It comes right after the part where the dragon burns the village. Not that kind of fantasy you say? Of course, you're right, the dragon would eat the characters BEFORE burning the village... Anyway, this is very exciting, even if it focuses on small and inferior humans instead of vastly superior ancient winged fire-breathing geniuses of colossal import and consequence. But sure, I guess they can save the world when the dragons are busy doing their taxes or something. Thanks for sharing!

well for sure I feel like the Druid was trying to figure out what was going on.... set up for her mushroom journey... but when you open yourself to the darkness... the darkness will come in. I also feel like you could show this with your "crawl" but instead of the words, it's some guy telling the warband around the fire... the shot of the Druid forms in the smoke while he's talking. You could even have him talking about something different but showing the Druid's journey Have your Archer ask him how he likes his snake... breaking the crawl.... and he says "Extra Crispy" smash cut to the chase scene opening.... then title screen.

I hope you're caught up on your Joe Abercrombie.... Maybe her being the only survivor leads to her getting her made name... like Bloody Mary or Bad Luck Penny...

This brings me back to my days in Broadcasting School when we were learning about TV programs and movies and how they were put together and my Theater days when I worked in sound production and making backdrops and scenery. Damn I wish I was close by I would lend a hand and I would not even ask for any payment. I would love to work on sound FX and editing.

Oooh, yeeeesh, gotta do a +1 for the rewrites and rewrite again - soooo many movies feel like either: a) Story was written within a specific set time, and whatever was down on paper when the alarm rang was what was filmed, no matter what state it was in. or: b) All major action sequences has been identified and written first, and then we «string’em together with some story-ish elements» and start filming. Some of my favourite movies when it comes to stories, lawrence of arabia and the bridge on the river kwai, are really simple stories, but the characters and the drive just feels so complete and full of depth. I also *really* like the first Rambo-movie for some reason, and The Deer Hunter, taxi driver, thx1138 - simple stories, but there is just something about how the stories are told through these little bits of information, tiny details and scenes that I feel is missing from many movies today - kind of in the same way a good model or scratch build is sold on scale and depth thanks to hours and hours of adding tiny details here and there :) so scriptscriptscript all the way :)

Now that i had a look at the cover, i realized I've played a session of ROSD. Was during covid. A friend of mine and I had a lot of fun.

Ooooo, liking the redemption arc/growth/developement themes going on for «The Archer», done right it’s a good backbone for some character development :) For the short text intro beginning bladerunner esque thingy explainer doing some kind of storyteller/narrator voice for it instead of just text, but not cheesy «wrong version of blade runner»-narrator, but finding a way to naturally integrated the voice and explanation of the setting into what happens after the cold open could set the scene in a good way, but avoiding the «character in the movie explaining what there was no budget to film»-trap ;)

Animated vines are hard to make looks menacing. Could a tree come to life (lime a treant) and snatch the character? If not, I look forward to you solving the vine challenge.

Have you listened to the group Heilung? Some of their videos have a tripod viking druid vibe. Cool stuff to get into that headspace.

Thought? Are you planning on playing out scenes of the movie in game? It could be a good way to help help drive story and it would be cool see games play as scenes also

I think the audience for this channel is akin to the target audience of the film. My feeling is that there does not need to be a lot of audience hand-holding or long exposition text-crawl. Trust your audience. They, we and I trust you.

Unless typing is part of the process, think about getting dictation software. Might help the thought process flow easier. That aside, I love this stuff.

Do you want to experiment? Try this, take your script notes and your inspiration pictures and run it through an AI to make an animated video to show...

All things considered, and you may have said this already, but aren't you going to make all the sets in miniature? I'm sure this isn't news to you since that's what you used to do, so I'll sit back and shut up.
