@@tabletopalchemy There may be a way to prove the universe is deterministic (or more accurately, "superdeterministic"); if quantum detection methods improve to the point where quantum measurements are more predictable than they are supposed to be, as hypothesized by Sabine Hossenfelder. I myself am very skeptical of determinism, but mainly because it just sounds wrong, rather than due to any particular science. It may all turn out to be moot anyway, as the dimensional theory of reality (each resolved quantum state creates a new universe slightly out of phase with its parent) renders superdeterminism irrelevant.

I was reading Brian Greene's hidden reality and I had this existential crisis from a mathematical perspective. Thankfully there is equal evidence that the universe is open ended...the catch is you have to imagine the superposition of the particle is dominant not the particle..in English for the universe to be open particles have to be imaginary...it's not difficult. If you are in the ocean and are tossed by a wave you only react with what touches you but the entire wave still exists and could be argued is more real than the small part you are interacting with. Oh the singularity that may have started the universe was concidered to be highly ordered. It was chaos that made it expand.

Three Body Problem. 😂 Free Will, does it exist? Wrong question. The correct question is, does knowing the answer change your actions? If your future is deterministic would you act differently? Then does it matter if you have free will or only the illussion of free will? A phrase used by the title character in the play Hamlet, by William Shakespeare. Hamlet suggests that human knowledge is limited: There are more things in heaven and Earth, Horatio, / Than are dreamt of in your philosophy [science].

I see these sorts of videos pop up from time to time. Oh no, real life has interferred with my YT production. I try and limit my YT consumption to two hours a day. It's one of my main sources of entertainment. And as a good human, I'm going to take a leap of faith and assume I'm some what representative of your community. A small part of your subs will be here for niche topics they wish to learn. But the majority of watchers are here to immerse themselves in the belief that if we are not actually friends, we certainly would be, IRL, if we just lived down the road from each other. So [almost] no one cares a jot that you didn't get to make the content that you want. We just want to sit and imagine we are drinking a beer with you and shooting the breeze about home-brew and hobby. I bet this doesn't help your anxiety. That's because you are a person of integrity. Maybe if you check the stats, you'll find very little difference between last week's views and this week. People want, nay, are crying out for ethics and integrity, interesting and engaging content providers. People they want to invest their time into. You have those qualities and you will get people watching your content for as long as you put it up. Have a good one. Cheers.

street light, dinosaurs, determinism... are you sure it's 8.9%? I dislike determinism of certain types, because it suggests that we don't effect the outcomes of the course we're on. the idea that it's already determined if I become homeless, have a stroke or lose everything in a fire. So it doesn't matter what I want or do, and it doesn't matter if i believe it matters, and convincing me about a deterministic universe doesn't matter either, what's already happened in the future will happen, so why try at anything, why seek anything, why try to change course for better health, save for a future etc.? it has parallels in the brain in a vat idea, where you can't prove this world isn't just fake sensory data sent to your disembodied brain floating in a vat. At a certain point you have to decide to act as if this is all real, because if it isn't it doesn't matter, but if it is it makes all the difference in the world. So it makes more sense to live your life like the outcome isn't yet decided and you have agency in deciding the course of certain things. because if you don't, you'd not change anything by believing one way or the other, but if it matters what you do and think and you chose to live like it doesn't you can create a mess of a life that didn't have to be that way.

There cannot be total chaos. Just by looking at the mathematical configurations in nature it's clear there's some form of ordered design going on, whether or not it's inherent to the universe or something set out by a higher power. Another layer to consider is fatalism. Some believe in total fatalism, wherein all things are preordained and we only have the illusion of choice. Then there's also limited fatalism, wherein SOME things are predetermined, but most of life is seemingly random. I tend to believe in limited fatalism because total fatalism means we have no actual impact on our lives. All choices and thoughts are illusion. We're just along for the ride. If that were the case, we're literally in a simulation... The asteroid example as a case-in-point for limited fatalism. We can impact things around us... within a limited scope. I got up to 6000+ level Philosophy courses back in college as part of my studies. Focusing in Epistemology, Existentialism, Ontology, Ethics... Fun times. Great conversations over beers.
