my biggest advice to most people, including myself. is get used to be hungry. miss a meal, maybe a few. try to stay up for 48 hours and go to work the next day. try living off plain oats for a month. whats coming isnt going to come down to gear or training for most people. its going to come down to our ability to suffer

My dad was born in 1923 . Those ppl back then KNEW how to survive off the land. The VAST, VAST, VAST majority of ppl now don't even know where their food comes from and they care. I find it hard to believe that animals will be hunted to basically extinction. There's a lot more to hunting than just walking out in the woods and shooting an animal. These ppl don't know how track an animal, stalk an animal, field dress an animal they literally only know their stark comes from outback steakhouse 😂...these ppl will eat each other ALIVE(especially if they live in the cities) long before any wild game is hunted out. When Texas got shut down for a week because of ice storm Uri, we had hot food, water, solar lighting, a warm house and security. It was a tiny test of what’s to come. A lot of people Lost their homes to ice and over 200 people died, some froze to death. People were out in the cold the second day standing in line waiting to buy food. Major food stores had to throw out tons of spoiled food. My immediate family ran to my house seeking shelter. I required they brought food and supplies with them before they showed up.😉

This was a great vid. I have learned over the past 20 years of prepping or so, that the ones with the most gear and biggest, most expensive AR's, who crap all over everybody else's kit, are the ones that either haven't been doing it as long, or haven't thought it out. I've said many times that, if that kind of shtf, the AR won't be the only weapon out there stacking people. At least here in the mountains in the east, where folks families have been for the past 250 years, the .22 LR will be a staple for most things offensive and defensive, and hunting. LOL. But in all seriousness, you can track peoples progress in their prepping journey, when their BOB gets down to 5 lbs, with a shotgun and pistol, and they spend more time in their garden than their "bugout plans". I thank the Lord every day to have grown up on a farm, in a time when we had wood heat and you could go for a week at a time with no power, with parents that went through the Depression. The important thing, is that people simply don't think things out or run through scenarios. And easy on the tactical muffintop, man. It's taken me a long time to get mine just right.

Why think of health, just go to urgent care. Some hard truths in the age of complacency and "everyone gets a trophy". People lose their minds before, during and after a hurricane, imagine the panic and chaos of a life and death scenario like an EMP attack or a REAL bio weapon unleashed upon the masses. I’ll be that dude with an AR and a backpack cruising around until I get dropped 😂. Which I’m ok with. What’s the end game? That’s a good question to ask too. A bugout bag can mean different things to different people and scenarios. I recently had a tornado and needed to leave quickly. But I needed to bring along my medical supplies, so I filled up a backpack and jumped in the car and drove to a hotel. You don't always need a 100 pound bag full of everything but the kitchen sink, and you're not necessarily on foot. Preppers always go straight into these fantasy apocalypse scenarios without addressing real life things like natural disasters that are more likely to occur.

I have the knowledge to do almost anything that I need to but I'm not physically capable of doing most things that would need to be done. As far as living off the land, yeah good luck. I've been a hunter for over 50 years and I can tell you that I've spent more days not seeing a single thing than days that I've come home with a good haul of meat. The only upside is where I live we are infested with deer because everybody hunts the antlers and not just the meat. I will take a doe or even a fawn over a big rack anyday. I've let some nice 6 and 8 pointers walk and took a doe because antler soup don't sound that good. I'll just do the best with what I've got and leave the rest up to God. People need to worry less about how much stuff they have and learn their weaknesses and limits and plan their actions around those weaknesses and limits. That's the way that the real world works.

Realistically speaking, based on the defense plan for my perimeter, I'm sure that people will try to infiltrate and/or attack it. As for what I get off of them, there may be SOME quality items, but most of it will probably be junk (I.e., Hi Point carbines, etc.). That junk will probably be good for some barter later-on, but that's about it.

Most people here are prepping for a bit of food security and insurance for future, IF the world goes to shit so will we. I am a grey person as far as prepping.

The bottom line is really simple. I don’t care how prepared we are nor how much we know, we’re simply buying time. Inside of 1-year, and I’m being EXTREMELY generous, 9 out of 10 will be DEAD. Inside of 6 months the graph is more vertical and levels out given all the snowflakes are gone well inside of 6 months. The first ratio has been studied to the point of exhaustion. It’s a fact. 90% dead im 12 months. Out of those 90%, I’m betting 70-80% of them will be inside of 6 months and 60-70% inside of 3 months. 50% will be gone in the first month due to basic health needs, starvation, lack of water and extreme violence. The odds of certain scenarios goes down for those that make it past 6 months, but in the end, should a complete collapse happen, the 10% that remain after 12 months likely don’t make it through the next 12. And the few that do may want to ask themselves what they’re surviving for. I’m not saying just lay down and die, but this is reality. The few that get through a year likely are the ones with bunkers, excellent evasion skills and the ability to remain out of sight. I’ve been preparing for 2 decades. Got all aspects covered but I know the chances of getting through 12 months are extremely slim. There are simply too many factors and things that will go wrong. My home is in Heaven. I’ll stay here as long as I can, but my time will come, and so will yours a lot sooner than you think in this scenario. It sucks but it’s reality. There will be no more “I can’t wait to play survival and army man” when this shit starts. Grown men will melt like butter inside of a week. Especially after they watch their family get murdered or worse. Get right with Jesus. That is all that really matters

Retired 11b. I've been in a couple war zones and some disaster areas. I tell people that if something is bad enough to displace you from your home, it is almost certainly too big to just walk out of with a backpack. If your plan doesn't involve a vehicle, you're planning to be a refugee at best whether you like it or not. On that same note. You hear lots of folks say their BOL is only 20 miles away etc. Maybe thats fine for a little disaster. But a grid down type disaster or war etc, you're just bugging in with extra steps. Maybe I missed it. But I think raiding is another fallacy. People planning that are planning to risk their life to steal finite resources that are being consumed and spoiling exponentially more with every second that passes. In a time with virtually no professional medical care. Not to mention fighting is very hard work and a very expensive task. (And people who are smart enough to have a lot of resources to raid, are certainly smart enough to have invented some diabolical ways to defend themselves and their supplies.) Anyway. Great video.

I think my problem with prepping is the idea that I’m gonna be prepared for anything enough to survive more than a couple years at best. I don’t see any way without just learning to forage and find and use resources to actually buy enough things or have enough of something to survive more than a couple years. You will eventually no matter what have to go and rely on outside resources.

Your site is the only one I've seen that makes sense. I've been trying to tell people this stuff for years and I'm 78. I've been doing this a while so I have lots of grains and I use my misc. grain flour every day. I can grind beans into flour and add it to my pancake mix. I once took an EMT search and rescue class so I know a fair amount regarding medical problems and I keep Quick Clot to stop bleeding.. I have a lot of medical supplies but I'm on a blood thinner. I know a fair amount about alternate medical procedures, including natural blood thinners though I can't regulate the amount needed. I will never bug out because I have bad knees, but I only need to walk a hundred yards and I'm in the woods since I have trees around me. Every day I work to make my structure wildland fire safe. I get my water off my roof and I purify all my water used for drinking. I wish more people listened to you about killing game. In my 60's I was a day hiker in the back country and I rarely saw wild game. Deer and elk don't like wolves so they live near people but all game and cattle will be gone in a few weeks in a grid down. I grew up not hunting so much but harvesting animals for food. It is so easy to have an accident in the woods and in a more stressful situation this is more likely to happen. And it's very dangerous to hike in the woods in winter, spring or late fall. And I only hiked with an emergency pack of 20 pounds. In my 30's I back packed and that backpack is heavy and hurts one's shoulder and neck if not hiking a lot. I live 4.5 driving hours from the nearest interstate and 2 hours from the nearest Walmart. I'm in a state where many people are prepared but there are people who would try to kill me to take my food. People need to realize that robbers come at night when you can't see and what will a homeowner do it someone throws a Molotov cocktail through a window and it starts a fire? Run outside? You are definitely correct when you talk of people dying. They surely will. I know a lot about prepping surviving, but I have to say, you need to get your ideas out to more people to keep them from dying. I'll recommend your site all I can.
