I thing I really dig about this video is the transparency you show, you don't try to hide the fact this is a business. but you also try to show you can collect a paycheck, and still have a human side to it. not everything is about robbing everyone of every dollar you can. you make to make sure your animals are nurtured going to great homes and everyone is respecting each other. and if this isn't a full time job. don't be scared to find other sources of work until the reptile business picks up. you've always been a smart dude. glad you found hobby/job that really fuels your passion.

Great tips bro 🙌 I started breeding all my own rodent/insect feeders years ago so my 100+ pets are all well taken care of and never run out of food. You just gotta add new blood to your colonies every so often and stay on there food. But during the summer I have a nice garden for all the feeders vegetables and fruits. If I didn’t do all that I’d be paying over 1500$ a month on rodents,chics/quail, and insects feeding monitors and large snakes ain’t cheap. And there’s been plenty of times I supplied pet stores and other keepers with feeders for cash or trades so it really is a great idea to breed your own feeders

And yeah I breed red eyed crocodile skinks, Savannah monitors, ball pythons, hognose snakes, leopard geckos, few spider species, few roach species, super/mealworms, mice/rats, and few others species of insects, skinks and snakes

I raise miniature schnauzers so I can very much relate. Dog food has doubled and we only use the really expensive stuff, wish I could feed insects that can breed themselves 😂

Completely throws off all my plans I been working towards for 2023. I see it coming already but glad my career is my real source of income, breeding Ambanja and noseybe will always be lucrative but business does slow down and prices fluctuate. Might need to downsize on some of my projects

Yep I have to slow down on my chameleon breeding projects for sure in 2023. I actually have been tossing half of my chameleon clutches out. I don’t like it but…. This gives me time to hone in on my newer reptile projects and investments!

Ryan have you ever thought of branching out and getting some contracts with the local pet stores in your area, and get some of your animals in there. Have the company logo in the sign for animal in store, puts your name on all your animals in store, before you know it, people will be asking for just those reptiles.

I have before when I first started breeding reptiles however I’ve never had too! Except a small lot of dart frogs. I personally don’t want to sell my reptiles to shop as I’d have to do it whole sale and to me that’s not worth the effort and time I put into building my market/brand/passion. But I will say though I do honestly want to open up a reptile shop/zoo someday!
