I've been making this recipe for my birthday for the past few years, and it's my absolute favorite! I brought it to Easter dinner last year and everyone loved it. The only thing I ever have trouble with is the white chocolate swirl on top - make sure you get good quality white chocolate so it melts evenly!

Made this today. Here are my thoughts: “Oreo” cookie packages (US) are 1 lb 2.12 oz. I simply used what was in the package (John uses a few more cookies than what is in a package.). Crust: I used the 1/2c of butter from the original recipe and my pan began to drip out butter while in the oven! In my second attempt, I went with 5 tbs unsalted butter and had no dripping at all. I also bought a package of “Oreo Thins” to make up for the rest of the cookies John uses in the recipe and to decorate the top of the cheesecake. The “Oreo Thins” added a more delicate touch to the top vs. using the regular Oreos. The white chocolate bars are almost $5 a piece in my neck of the woods. One 125g bar was WAY MORE than enough. Just add less cream….I used just shy of 1/4c. The small amount of chocolate used in this recipe: I also reduced to 1 full tbs of melted chocolate to about 1/2 tbs of cream. This was also all you need. My gas stove is from the 1940s, and I allowed the cheesecake to bake about 70 minutes. At 45 -50 minutes, it was not set enough in the middle. The cheesecake turned out super yummy!
