A Napoli, all'interno della Basilica di Santa Maria alla Sanità, si può vedere un presepio particolare, che ripropone le caratteristiche del classico presepio del 700 in cui sono inseriti personaggi della storia, mitologia e leggende della città.
Le figure sono state realizzate dai fratelli Scuotto e la scenografia da Biagio Rascigno.
Questa opera, situata nella sacrestia della basilica, si può visitare nel periodo natalizio; nel resto dell'anno è inserita nel percorso delle catacombe di San Gaudioso che si trovano al di sotto della chiesa: la visita guidata (come per le catacombe di San Gennaro) è a cura della cooperativa "La Paranza" che offre lavoro ai giovani.
In Naples, inside the Basilica of Santa Maria alla Sanità, you can see a particular nativity scene, which features the characteristics of the classic 18th century nativity scene in which characters from the history, mythology and legends of the city are inserted.
The figures were created by the Scuotto brothers and the scenography by Biagio Rascigno.
This work, located in the sacristy of the basilica, can be visited during the Christmas period; in the rest of the year it is included in the route of the catacombs of San Gaudioso which are located below the church: the guided tour (as for the catacombs of San Gennaro) is organized by the "La Paranza" cooperative which offers work to young people.
