La Val Tartano è una valle laterale della Valtellina. Si trova all'interno del Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi, in provincia di Sondrio (Lombardia). Ha la forma di una Y, in quanto è costituita, nella parte medio-bassa, da un profondo ed orrido solco, che, all’altezza di Tàrtano (m. 1200), si apre e biforca, nel due rami della Val Lunga, ad est, e della Val Corta, ad Ovest.
Nel 2016 parte l’iniziativa della passerella, un ponte tibetano che collega Campo Tartano con il maggengo Frasnino. Dal ponte tibetano si può ammirare lo spettacolare scenario delle montagne, la sella di Campo Tartano, le imponenti vette ed i ghiacciai delle Alpi Retiche, la verde vallata del Tartano, la diga di Colombera, il maggengo Frasnino e l’apertura del fondovalle valtellinese che culmina nel lago di Como per tramonti indimenticabili. Lo sforzo economico ed umano per sostenerne la costruzione é stato affrontato con l’unione delle forze di tante persone per un fine comune. Il ponte è lungo 234 metri, si trova a una altezza di 140 m ed è largo un metro, altitudine 1036 metri circa, sospeso su una valle fluviale ripida e boscosa. Una bella opportunità di osservare la natura dall’alto sospesi, è proprio il caso di dire, nel cielo. E' percorribile con passeggini o carrozzine per disabili.
Val Tartano is a side valley of Valtellina. It is located inside Park of the Orobie Valtellinesi, in the province of Sondrio (Lombardy). It has the shape of a Y, as it consists, in the medium-low part, of a deep and horrid furrow, which, at the height of Tàrtano (m. 1200), opens and forks, in the two branches of the Val Lunga, to the east, and the Val Corta, to the west.
In 2016 the initiative of the footbridge, a Tibetan bridge that connects Campo Tartano with the Maggengo Frasnino, starts. From the Tibetan bridge you can admire the spectacular scenery of the mountains, the saddle of Campo Tartano, the imposing peaks and glaciers of the Rhaetian Alps, the green valley of the Tartano, the Colombera dam, the maggengo Frasnino and the opening of the Valtellina valley floor which culminating in Lake Como for unforgettable sunsets. The economic and human effort to support its construction was faced with the union of the forces of many people for a common purpose. The bridge is 234 meters long, stands at a height of 140 m and is one meter wide, at an altitude of approximately 1036 meters, suspended over a steep and wooded river valley. A nice opportunity to observe nature from above suspended, it is appropriate to say, in the sky. It can be used with strollers or wheelchairs for the disabled.
