You know, Reagan had something that almost no other president that I've seen in my lifetime had... Even people who disagreed with him still liked the guy. My father was as liberal as all heck, and yet he loved Reagan. I remember watching an interview with a democratic senator (do not recall which) said that- "I would burst into his office angry wanting to tell him off, and I left with a smile every time- he was so kind I just couldn't get mad at the guy"!

Reagan enlisted in the reserve in 1937, but his poor eyesight prevented him from serving in the battle theatre during the war. He was classified as "limited service" only. And yes, of course he had speechwriters. So does every other President, a number of comedians, and many other public speakers. So what? At least they sound more intelligent than you. Know your facts before you spout.

Do you see how both sides knew how to respect each other, laugh at jokes, seem like they were competent. I remember the narrative of him being old and slow, compared to the candidates we get now from each side, he looks like Einstein. Also the first speech, he glanced at the prompter maybe twice while swinging his eyes back to each side of the floor. The man actually had a brain.

I recall one of my hockey buddies in University that was a Canadian poli-sci major saying what a catastrophe would become of the world if an actor was elected president.. I remember watching the debate with him and turning to him after Reagan made the youth and inexperience comment and said to him, I hope you are wrong because that joke just won him the election. Turned out Jasper was wrong and Reagan did a really good job for the world. As a Canadian it is my opinion he was one of your better presidents in my life time.

His economic policy was brilliant. By comparison Trudeau escalated interest rates to 18 % while Reagan consistently reduced them as well as inflation. He ended the cold war too, but no big deal in your books I guess.

No one would ever complain President Reagan’s Governing leadership, because he is a such great President for all of us to remember and cherish always. His great visions knew how to choose his great wife the former 1st Lady Nancy Reagan as well as the former President Bush 41 to be his Vice President. Presidents Reagan and Bush will remain always remembered and cherished. The former 1st Lady Nancy Reagan’s deep love to President Reagan is very much touched our hearts. I truly wish you were still here. To go against Joe Biden and Donald Trump. You're the only president then I ever cared for and then we had Bush Junior and Bush Senior which will also very good but beyond that point everything seems to be forgotten. Your voice always spoke so loud even in a gentle way we miss you and I wish you were still here straighten this country out
