Glad you tried it out bro. a few tips: option +shift+ R is your friend when you want to do high hat and snare rolls on the fly...you can stack drum samples in sample one too. instead of auditioning samples in the browser, you can also browse the samples within the entire folder the sample came from with the left and right arrows at the top of sample one once you drag the sample in. you can do "tab to transient" like in pro tools when you want to move forward based on transients or next midi note. chord track is amazing. you can chop samples on the fly and throw them in impact xt. extract notes or chords from audio by dragging and dropping the audio to a midi file, it automatically converts it. so many workflow hacks in this daw. you could have also changed the piano roll to drum mode and did note repeats in there and change the probability rates and everything..Keep making heat in there and you might leave logic lol..i love both DAWS because they make workflow so fast.

I’ve followed Studio One from the beginning when they explained how they’d assembled various DAW designers to come up with a completely new DAW that was more simple without being considered CHEAP! I love the drag-n-drop features and the ease of navigation overall! I’d strongly suggest upgrading to Studio One 5!! I did so just before the holidays! It’s as PROFESSIONAL as Pro-Tools and Logic in my opinion. Damn excellent work on that beat also!!!!!!

Studio One technically has been around since 2004 when it was called *Kristal Audio Engine* hense the Studio One Logo is acutally the original Kristal Audio logo. I used a demo version of Kristal Audio Engine way back in 2007 when I was still on Cakewalk Sonar. Presonus purchased Kristal Audio assets and changed the name of Kristal Audio Engine to Studio One as farther development. The original developers were former Steinberg Developers hense why studio one looks a whole lot like Cubase.

Studio One has 1 MAIN ADVANTAGE no other DAWs have -> you can set ONE playback buffer size (latency) for all the playback tracks, and ANOTHER „recording“ buffer size for near realtime vst playing or recording audio tracks. So within bigger projects you dont have to struggle with high buffer sizes for clickfree playback while recording with too much latency! S1 is a BEAST 🔥

Just started into music production. I play guitar, piano, bass, drums, and sing. My wife bought me some studio equipment for an early Christmas present because I just lost use of my left arm temporarily from a car wreck and I can’t really play guitar right now. I’ve been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to use daws and plug ins and midis. Your personality and the fact that you just did all that like you’ve been using this for years has earned you a new sub. Thank you for sharing. And that beat was dope.

Bruh if this was ur first beat on studio one u bodied that one. I swear by studio one i'ma tell u it's well worth it. I started out on studio one 2 now I'm working on 4. My Mentor uses 5 which is the latest version. I plan on going to 5 as soon as I get a new laptop. When I first started using studio one I was like u, a lil skeptical cause I was working with FL at that time. My Boy was well into studio one so I kept pressing it & learning more of what it do. Bruh this is one powerful powerful DAW. When u start to really get into the latest versions 4,5 this DAW is awesome. So I would say to you don't sleep on presonus studio one. What I like most about it is that they have roughly about 99 to 100%@ of the capabilities of all the popular DAW's. But here's the kicker they make it so simple. The work flow is bananas. I could take a person who doesn't know anything about music theory & show them how create music , melodies. Chord progressions all in studio one. MVP DA Cheff...Peace!

You should use Impact XT for your drums especially if you’re a MPC user. You didn’t need to open all those sample one’s. Just open impact and drag the sounds you want onto the 16 pads and make your whole drum kit. You can name your kits and save them as well. Impact has all the same controls as sample one. Each pad can also be routed to the mixer as its own channels for mixing.
@BoloDaProducer
@BoloDaProducer 2 жыл бұрын
Only problem I have with impact is it doesn’t allow you individual sounds mapped across the keys like the one similar in Logic Pro
@ThaRealWillowBeatz
@ThaRealWillowBeatz 2 жыл бұрын
@@BoloDaProducer you can put what ever you want in impact. One shots, full melody samples and it gets sliced and spread across all the pads. You open like 7 sample ones to make a drum kit when you can open one impact and load 16 loops or one shots to 5 different banks and trigger the pads like you would with an mpc. It really doesnt get closer to drum machines than the impact.

You been missing out man. Super dope DAW. I Been using studio one since 2011 after comming off of Cakewalk Sonar. Protools is definitely not a requirement if you are a Record Producer. It makes sense if you are Pro Audio Engineer. Producer Oak Felder produced the entire Sorry Not Sorry song entirely in Logic Pro, Demi Lovatos vocals and everything as he doesn't use a Recording Engineer. Neither do I as we both act as both the Vocal Producer and Engineer when cutting vocals. Most DAWs are cross compatible these days as I can littery load Protools sessions in Studio One or you can just bounce down to STEMS and send off to a Mix Engineer.

Yo not sure if someone already told you this but for Drums you want to use IMPACT XT which is the Drum sampler. Sample one is like Logics Quick Sampler and Impact is the drum machine designer. Now Logic is my Main Daw but I use Studio One as well. Impact XT actually works slightly better than Logics DMD in SOME aspects... It handles the the Drum one shots slightly better as it allows for choke adjustment in a much easier way and like Logic, Impact XT is directly integrated with Sample one if you want to mess with the wave form. One thing Impact XT definitely has on DMD is importing a drum sample to Impact; automatically adjusts to optimal “gain” and “Volume” which takes a lot of aggravation out of the picture as I personally get a bit frustrated with Logic DMD sometimes as the Samples sometimes require some adjustments as the input and output are rather low and I’ve tried Optimized and Original to see if that would resolve the issue but it doesn’t and it definitely speeds up the workflow when you don’t have to toss a few plugins on the channel to get the Drums to bump or have “presence” with Logic this is my only gripe while Studio one gets the edge on drag n drop production ready output levels... Logic Pro DMD is Overall much more sophisticated. Before Logic 10.5 was released, I was using ST1 to fill the gaps of the previous Logic Pro X which was a nightmare as far as sampling with EXS24 and all the other features like live looping, step sequencer, drop in pattern and midi regions, and the absolutely incredible Logic Remote app on the iPad which I have the iPad Pro 2020 and now with the latest 10.6 update, adding the step sequencer to Logic Pro, the automation, live FX, Clip Launching, the Chord grid! Basically, once Logic Pro came back at us as the ULTIMATE DAW, I have little to no use for ST1... I will add that ST1 out of the box is superior for mixing and mastering yet adding Slate all access, Ozone/Neutron, and some other favorite 3rd mixing plugins or 87 😏 Quickly takes the mixing/mastering advantage over Presonus plug-ins (Not taking away from the Presonus Line of mixing Plugins, they are phenomenal to say the least)

thank you, this tutorial helped me the most out of several because you were explaining as you were learning- most tutorials omit nearly all of the functions because they're more used to the program which makes it really hard for a beginner to catch anything. a bit more confident to try this again after previously giving up, thank you

Quick tip; you can drag a MIDI event downwards and it will bounce it for you and create a new audio channel. Pretty cool.....

I switched over to Studio One because I wanted to move away from Logic following a series of really bad bug ridden updates when running on older hardware. I was using an upgraded 2010 mac pro, which was plenty fast enough but Apple weren't supporting or testing on hardware that old, which put me in a very low priority demographic. Studio One was a complete breath of fresh air. Everything felt familiar, but there are some elements in the editor (the piano roll especially) which are so much more functional than Logic, and it's meant that my workflow has become far more efficient. The knock on effect is that I've been able to move my production to Windows as I was able to build a comparable machine for production work far cheaper than I could buy something from Apple for. Something that's worth playing with is the drum machine Impact. Dropping samples onto it is a breeze, it can very easily send to different channels in the mixer so you can EQ and compress different sounds individually, and all samples can be pitched so if you wanted to drop additional drum sounds into that and use Sample One for your snare/808, you have a really nice way to structure drum tracks. One feature which I do love over Logic is that you can move channel strips in the mixer. I use a lot of subgroups and being able to shift them all to the right of the mixer makes the whole thing much easier to navigate. Thank you for sharing this - it was a very satisfying video to watch as it's basically how I was when I started working with S1. I also learned a new trick from you with the command-drag function in the piano roll to add multiple notes, that is a brilliant trick. The beat sounds excellent as well. I realise I'm late to comment, but yeah, pretty awesome video.

You can also scroll thru the sounds in sampler also.....its a lil dot where the metronome is that engages the click in .... and when you where in the editor for the hi hat to highlight the notes from the piano keys hold shift ( i think.... its muscle memory to me now lol )..... and you can toggle the mix editor on and off to the bottom to the right til u learn short keys..... yes 5 is worth upgrading ...... another thing...in the sampler hit the follow tempo tab
