TOP TOP video guys - The head of Press-It seems absolutely loaded to the gills with confidence & knowledge on this corner of the tool market. For sure in the UK this man and his firm should be the 1st choice for purchase of tools and calibration/servicing/repairs. I totally agree with him too where he says no name/unproven manufacture fittings need to be let's say just above half price to pull you away from Pegler/Connex and even then is it really worth it? The Connex/Pegler when pressed correctly in a pukka piped up system should and will last 20 years. Thumbs up for all the effort put in here Pete. Let's hope more plumbers for example PJ Tiff pull the trigger on going press fit - It really is a revolution over doing 100% soldering all your work.

Just done a full house plumbing with mlcp pipe didn't have to fork out to theses expensive tool just use manifold instead of branch plumbing used 16mm for water with 9 port manifold and 5 port for hot water and 12mm mlcp for heating with 10 port manifold didn't need for a press tool and no compromise on pressure and no need to worry about leaks there are no joint where you can't see

That's quite a good way of doing it to be fair, easy to balance at the manifold and no chance of leaks under the floor if you don't in one loop. Need to insulate those pipes though because losses can be high

Friend of mine burns brand new novapress due to water entry into tool itself throughout tool cooling grill 😢😢😢 So nobody mentioned that from those tools promoters Personally would choose rems because no cooling holes or grills present 👍

Press it really good they fixed one of our Rothenberger gun was fast and good service. Video really good, very informative, but I don't think UK and US change to Press only life like most of Eastern Europe country did around 30 years ago😅 They have that weird feeling about this o ring stupidity and of course the cost of fitting. I use press since I started out with my dad around 25 years now. And we use press in Hungary since late 70s. 😂 Same some big company in London I know they press since 80s.. good old heavy 240v press guns..

The machines are too expensive and the fitting are too expensive, I get they are quicker but the cost of everything right now your having to be a lot more economical on jobs. Fine if your doing commercial stuff and you have no hot works but for the cost vs reward its miles off for me.
@MartynDuerden

Time is money though, I get through so much more work with press than I ever did with solder etc. I freely admit I am no PB with my soldering and do get the occasional joint failure, with press this is much failure rate is much lower. On gas, especially 35mm and up these tools are game changers. The lack of hot work is a major benefit too. Been using a Nova press since 2013 now.

Madness! How on earth is anyone coming along after the installation to make repairs or alterations supposed to work with the weird sizes? Half the companies will have changed their sizes, or gone broke and no longer be available in 10 years time.

Im not convinced on this method of pipe jointing. Too many profiles. No industry standard amougst rival manufacturers to allow interchangeable jaws. Extremely expensive investment start up costs. Plus no information on long term reliability of oring seals in hostile hot conditions . Time will tell if this is reliable or can we expect a huge quantity of work in the future to retro fit installations with time tested methods

I have been using viega copper and plastic press systems for 23 years. The dimensions have not changed, and neither has the tool. The work is fast and safe with it, there is no need to deal with fire protection.

@@MMKLYH Having a 26mm press tool, with the right head and a fitting to get to 22mm, however certainly isn't in every van. Weird sized pipe and bespoke fittings are the devil's work. Bad enough when you come across shitty old galvanised steel pipe in a house that you have to cut into. Non standard sized stuff has no advantage for anyone but the manufacturer.

I've just plumbed out a whole house, 11 rads using MLCP. Material costs was less than copper and it took about half the time. I can use it for secondary return hot water too. Initial outlay for the tools and jaws were more than paid for in the first job. My customers house didn't stink of flux and my eyes and nose weren't swollen from breathing in the odd combusted joist 😅 I absolutely love my Novo press, I won't go back to soldering (which I have done for over 15 years)

This is where the Plumbing Manufactures let all the plumbers down... ... BIG TIME ... There should B 1 (ONE) Profile NO Matter of who the fitting manufacturer. All the profile heads should B standardised NOT bastardized... Then let the Plumber make up his mind on what Press Tool he purchases... & U plumbers only have yourselves 2 blame...
