You probably don’t need to drill a new hole for the inner band. It should still fit the screw under the front sling swivel.

Another terrific video. As both my grandfathers fought in the Australian Imperial Force in France during WW1, I'm keen to get a Lithgow from that era. The irony being, however, that Australian troops didn't take their Lithgows to France with them, but were issued with English rifles when they arrived, mostly BSAs, I believe. But, in any case, a No1 MkIII in Queensland Maple, is, I think, one of the nicest-looking Lee-Enfields.

Absolutely. I've been scouring for QLD Maple furniture and glad I was able to get this set even if the forend is a Mk I.

Would love to see a video on how you get this fitted. Thinking of doing the same, but have been told these are a lot of work to fit properly.

Yes they are, especially since these are cut generously. I plan to do it parts. First part will be the buttstocks of the QLD Maple and Walnut set I got. Followed by the forends. I'll be using the original instructions for armorers for reference along the way.

Last I checked Numrich has M95 rifle stocks, just no top handguards.

Have you tried to fit it yet? The Walnut set I purchased had excessive gap between the wrist and the lower & no amount of modifications to the draws could fix it. I ended up not using it. It was made wrong.

I have done a quick fit test and it looks like both forends should fit fine. They just have a lot of wood I need to shave down in the draws and where the receiver sits.

I'm still confused about why you got a mkI instead of III. And you said the MKIII are available? Love these rifles and I had one 30 years ago, too bad I couldn't keep it at the time.

Mk III aren't available in Queensland Maple this is the last forend he has in that wood type and he's out of Queensland Maple.
