- It will look good on stockinette.
- Edge will not roll after blocking.
- It can be used instead of the usual cast-off providing decorative look.

For example, you can use it casting-off neckline edge and leave it like that, or finish it with ribbing later. Because of thicker edge neckline will be stable and won't stretch. It will look good also on any other edge, considering if this casting off method will suit the pattern.

Hi, Anna! Hm..when casting off this way in the round, the only thing you have to take care off smooth joining in the round . Shouldn't be difficult. Otherwise steps are the same.

Hello, I tried this technique last night and it mostly worked, at least it certainly helped, but it made some little loops almost hanging down, and am wondering what my mistake was? the edge just didn't come out very neatly unfortunately....do you have any ideas of why this might have happened?

Hi! It's difficult to tell without seeing. Where do you have small loops hanging? Front or back? Or, you might pick up wrong the bar under the stitch. Look, I have a short video recently uploaded. Have a look at this: kzfaq.infoOtFn8LU5OuU?feature=share. Let me know if this helps

@@kristinavirka thank you so much....your videos are both really good...I re-did it very carefully, and I think it's partially that my yarn is quite thin, so it's not very forgiving with subtle inconsistencies...I checked really carefully not to pick up the wrong stitch...it isn't terrible looking, just subtle differences and I'm a little bit of a perfectionist. It does still curl..a bit less so but I do wish it was just a bit easier to make a really straight edge. it's really fun to do though :)

@rjuniper you know, yarn can make a difference. Thin yarn would not hold the bind off really well. In the video, I used wool mix, and in shorts was quite sturdy cotton yarn.

Did you notice, for example, that sleek yarn fiber (silk, linen, etc) don't hold the ribbing, it is not about what you do wrong, simply characteristics of yarn fiber
